General Changes

- Siege, Battle Wagons, Trolls, Summoned Dragon, Balrog, Shade of the Wolf, Mumakil, Mordor and Isengard battering ram, Sorcerers, Hobbits, Morgomir, Rogash, Summon Spider Allies, Wights, Summoned Giants, Shelob, and Angmar Witch-King no longer split the armies when issued commands nearby.
- Greater Wights (Wights from Lairs & Summoned Wights) now have 25% larger model.
- Galadrim Warriors and Noldor Warriors will now prioritize attacking archers, cavalry and swordsmen if these types of units and buildings are in range.
- Isengard and Angmar unit palantir slots re-ordered for better consistency.
- Wyrm attack and target focus behaviour improved.
- Hero pathfinding improved (now all heroes should attack buildings/units correctly).
- Lumber Mill workers mobility improved.
- Unit ability and upgrade slot positions updated across the board for consistency.
- Added two more construction starting points for Builders. This is to prevent the builder from spending too much time walking around an obstacle to begin construction.
- Forces of Darkness Fortress now has an evil specific select decal.

General Balance Changes

- Bonus system overhaul:
--- Buff armour and damage bonuses reduced to +33% (was +50%);
--- Leadership armour and damage bonuses reduced to +25% (from +33%);
--- Spells reduced to +25% armour and damage (from +33% or +50%).
- Resouce Buildings:
--- resource generation:
----- output penalty per new Resource Building reduced (allows more RBs to be built with a lesser global output penalty);
----- output penalty now 100 100 100 100 95 95 90 90 85 79 75 73 71 68 66 (was 100 100 100 100 90 85 80 75 71 68 66);
--- health reduced to 1800 (from 2000);
--- CAVALRY armour increased to 35% (from 40%).

- Untamed Allegiance Production bonus increased to 100% (was 75%).
- Mini Hero Hordes:
--- healing rate increased to 20 health per second (from 15 health per second);
--- auto heal start delay decreased to 10s (from 20s);
--- FoD respawn rate decreased to 30s (from 45s).
- Wyrm:
--- vision range increased to 750 (from 200);
--- shroud clearing range increased to 750 (from 300).
- Mini Hero Hordes and Battle Wagons will now benefit from all fear resistance bonuses.
- Charge:
--- now a button click ability for Guardians, Half-troll Swordsmen, Black Numenoreans, and Snow Trolls (no longer requires a target unit);
--- Charge provides a 50% speed boost and allows units to crush enemies for a duration of 4s;
--- Snow Trolls gain reduced Crush Deceleration instead of a speed boost (able to crush more units in a single rush);
--- added white speed boost FX for the brief bonus;
--- added new, unique Crush Deceleration FX for the brief bonus;
--- crush damage reduced from 80 to 60.
- Industry:
--- recharge time decreased to 180s (from 360s);
--- duration decreased to 150s (from 300s);
--- production bonus decreased to +150% (from +175%).
- Cave Trolls, Mountain Trolls, and Attack Trolls now deal 3x more damage against Battle Wagons.
- Rogash should now be crippled by Stinger and Morgul Blade abilities.
- Summoned Dragon base attack nerfed (less damage on adjacent targets).
- Ships:
--- Transport Ship health increased to 600 (from 300);
--- Doom and Storm Ship palantir slot positions in Shipwright swapped with Bombard Ships;
--- Bombard Ship:
----- range decreased to 500 (from 600);
----- accuracy improved significantly (should match that of regular siege);
----- all ships now benefit from stances with the following attributes:
----- Aggressive Stance - increases attack range by 10% and shroud clearing range by 15%; reduces armour by 15%;
----- Hold Ground Stance - increases armour by 10%; reduces attack range by 10% and shroud clearing range by 5%.
- CaH Summon Familiar:
--- no longer nullifies enemy Leadership;
--- can no longer be attacked or killed.
- Troops will no longer be affected by uncontrollable Fear when they are near Trolls and Ents.
- Fire behaviour:
--- added fire bonus to combat buildings and resource buildings;
--- fire from archers (with Bombard), Corsairs Firebombs, Battle Wagon and Iron Hills Catapult Oil Barrels now deals additional damage to combat buildings and Resource Buildings.
- Warg Riders, Haradrim Lancers, Rivendell Horse Archers, Rivendell Lancers, Gondor Knights, Rohirrim, Knights of Dol Amroth, and Black Riders movement behaviour improved.
- Horde bonus for Goblins, Orcs, and Gundabad Orcs now activates when there are 75 units bunched together (was previously 100).

Neutral Changes

- Goblin Lair (creep) unit spawn count increased to 14 (from 8).
- Treasure chest drop locations from creeps are now at fixed positions.

WotR Changes

- Auto resolve leadership bonuses tweaked to match new leadership overhaul.
- Treebeard:
--- Leadership damage bonus removed (as he only offers armour in RTS);
--- armour bonus reduced to +50% (from 100%) to match RTS value.

Inn Changes

- Galadhrim Warrior Forged Blades upgrade damage increased to 160 (was erroneously 140).
- Inn Black Orcs build cost increased to 300 (from 250).
- Haradrim Spearmen melee (close range) attack increased to 36 (from 11).

Audio & Graphics Changes

- Purchasing Siege Kegs now adds a unique visual statue above the Fortress door.
- Warg Pack and Warg Rider Howl now has a new, unique activation FX.
- Reverted Buff FX to original version (the modified version obscurred clumped units).
- Snow Trolls, Hill Trolls, and Dire Wolves' recruit sound can now be heard anywhere for the player.
- House of Healing respawn FX improved and should now cause less strain to the machine.
- Added Dire Wolf stun animation.
- Added new ability icons for:
--- King Brand's Slam Shot and Beast Slayer Arrow;
--- Death Bringers' Stone Wall and Death Wish;
--- Karsh's Will of the Undead (fear resistance ability);
--- Lumber Worker melee damage now displayed in the Palantir.
- Dwarven Guardian with Siege Hammers VoiceEnterState voice files will now properly play.
- Added new select sound effects for Angmar's Troll and Wolf Den and Dark Iron Forge (previously used Mordor sound effects).
- Drogoth's Incinerate ability now has a new, unique icon.
- Game settings changes:
--- additional map lighting effects will now be displayed on low and very low graphics settings;
--- updated map settings in World Builder;
--- reduced tooltip display time to 200ms (from 800ms).
- Added new Charge animation for Guardians, Half-Troll Swordsmen, and Black Numenoreans.
- Added missing charge animation for Rohirrim and Knights of Dol Amroth.
- Removed buggy animations for Gondor Knights and Rohan Spearman.
- Slightly tweaked dark blue colour.
- Azog:
--- Brigandage ability now has a new, unique icon;
--- Fury ability now has a new, unique icon.
- Made improvements to the way the game generates music tracks (applicable only with new music option enabled in the launcher).
- Ominous ambient crow sounds will now play throughout the duration of the Darkness spell.
- Angmar Freezing Rain:
--- renamed to "Blizzard";
--- added new, unique spell button icon;
--- when cast, map will darken and there'll be snowfall for the duration of the spell;
--- cold wind ambient sound effects added.
- Increased the number game's particle limit to prevent loss of FXs when the limit is reached.
- Increased the duration of the Darkness spell bonus to prevent the effect from being interrupted every so often.
- Enabled BFME1 voices for Easterlings when Collector's Edition features are enabled.
- Improved Easterling and Mithlond Sentry animations.
- Angmar Witch-king:
--- added animation for Screech ability (mounted);
--- Screech animation replaced (dismounted).
- Black Riders:
--- added animations for creech ability;
--- added additional chase attack animation.
- added new, unique bow/sword toggle button icon for Spider Riders.

Tooltip Changes

- No longer indicate that Mithlond Sentries can stealth near trees.
- Mordor Witch-king and Fellbeasts recruit and revive tooltips now indicate they gain armour per level.
- Dwarven Riches and Industry now indicate the correct percentage boost value.
- Bloodthirsty ability renamed to Bloodlust and description streamlined.
- Added tooltips for newly added bonuses for Burrows, Dormitory Expansions, and Hall Expansions.
- Added tooltips for newly added vision debuff for Darkness.
- Corrected "Decommision Bonus" tooltip for Dormitory and Hall Expansions.
- Removed Eowyn's Disguise "hero-specific" tooltip as it doesn't work properly.

AI Changes

- Will no longer cast Wyrm/Summoned Dragon/Balrog, etc directly after Fortress goes down.
- Improved the way several spell book spells are used.
- Improved spam/aggressiveness behaviours.
- Will no longer prioritise upgrading their Fortress with armour right off the bat (unless under constant attack).
- Grand Harvest, Siege Materials, and Iron Ore upgrades should now be researched more frequently.
- Added maximum priority to build a Fortress. This should minimise the AI building a resource building in place of where their Fortress should be in WotR real-time mode.
- Priority added for AI Heavy Armor and Fire Arrows tech upgrades.
- Removed Skirmish AI damage bonuses: Easy AI no longer has a 0.25x multiplier, Hard AI no longer has a 1.20x multiplier, Brutal no longer has a 1.50x multiplier.
- AI will now use the Mumakil's Charge ability.
- Fixed issue where AI Dwarven Mighty Catapult from Fortress and Citadel would not be used.
- AI should now always upgrade their units if tech upgrades are purchased.
- Easy AI difficulty toned down so newer players are able to transition into the game more easily.

Misc

- Off-host delay:
--- has been significantly reduced;
--- laggy machines or poor connections may cause stuttering - it is advised that you adjust graphics settings accordingly or resolve connection issues for the smoothest gaming experience;
--- offline players are encouraged to keep the delay fix disabled.
- Incorporated the 4GB Patch into the 2.02 installer:
--- fixed the Out of Memory issue that may occur in late-game for players in larger games and higher graphics settings.


Men of the West

- Boromir:

----- recharge time reduced to 75s (from 105s);
----- no longer stuns, instead debuffs and slows down nearby enemies for 20s;

- Vigilant Ent Expansion:

- Saruman Dominate ability radius increased to 120 (from 85).
- Sharku's Tame the Beast ability now provides 200 experience to Wargs Packs and Warg Riders (was 150).
- Furnace geometry tweaked so it can fit better against other buildings/objects.
- Fortress Lightning Strike recharge time reduced to 240s (from 360s).
- Mine Launcher Expansion build cost reduced to 500 (from 750).
- Warg Sentry build time increased to 45s (from 30s).
- Tainted Land resources per kill priority takes precedence over all other sources.

Mordor

- Black Rider FROST armour decreased to 20% (from 1%).
- Witch-king FROST armour decreased to 20% (from 1%).
- Fellbeast FROST armour decreased to 20% (from 1%).
- Siege Works:
--- build cost reduced to 300 (from 600);
--- level 2 upgrade cost increased to 750 (from 500).
- Tavern:
--- makes a return to Mordor's build list (originally available in BFME2);
--- trains Corsairs and researches Fire Arrows, Forged Blades, and Heavy Armor;
--- Corsairs available from level 1; Fire Arrows available from level 2; Forged Blades and Heavy Armour available from level 3;
--- building multiple Taverns allows discount for Corsairs and unit upgrades (FA, FB, and HA) - 10% cheaper when 2 Taverns are built; 15% cheaper when 3 Taverns are built - caps at 15% discount;

- Mountain Troll:

Goblins

- Cave Bats:
--- no longer nullifies Leadership;
--- can no longer be attacked or killed.
- Goblin King:

- Burrow Expansion now provide a decommission bonus.
- Half-troll Marauder Forged Blades upgrade damage increased to 200 (was erroneously 175).
- Goblin Archer:
--- shroud clearing range increased to 500 (from 450);
--- Goblin Archer upgraded FROST armour increased to 50% (from 75%);
--- Poison Arrows ability range increased by 425 (from 375).
- Spiderling:
--- Resouce Building damage reduction scalar reduced to 90% (from 80%);
--- Negative scalar vs Swordsmen removed for both main weapon and Venom Sacs weapon (I.e., they should now deal improved damage vs Swordsmen);
--- Venom Sacs:
----- now increases Spiderling base damage to 100 (from 90 - previously no increase as regular weapon deals 90 damage);
----- now has a 80% scalar against Battle Wagons to match un-upgraded weapon.

- Gundabad Orc:
--- health increased to 90 (from 75);
--- damage decreased to 35 (from 40).
- Rogash STRUCTURAL armor reduced to 20% (from 15%).
- Snowbind now slows down production by 50% (as opposed to halting it).
- Fell Wind pull force will now only pull units within the cursor radius (not entire hordes).

Bug Fixes

- Removed unintended armour bonus for Goblin Fissure which made it significantly tankier than other buildings.
- Half-Troll Marauders and Half-Troll Swordsmen Frost armour now actually increases with Heavy Armour purchase.
- Corrected CaH Inspire Fear Debuff value to -25% (was -20%).
- Dwarven Mineshaft:
--- rally point now works correctly;
--- troops should no longer get stuck when Battle Wagon is in the proximity of a Mineshaft.
- Gorgoroth Spire and Sanctum Frostball cast nearby mountains (or any inclines/declines) do not cause the ability to fail and trigger a cooldown.
- Arwen and Goblin King chase animations now work correctly.
- Allied horde units will no longer attack single allied units (workers/builders, heroes, trolls, catapults, etc).
- Isengard Death Bringers no longer damage each other.
- Banner Carriers upgrade for Rohirrim in bow mode now correctly costs 80.
- Boulders from Dwarven Iron Hills Catapult upgraded with Flaming Shots will now knock back enemies upon impact.
- Fixed issue that caused Gothmog to walk headlong into enemy armies.
- Summoned Hobbits no longer remain on the field after their timer has expired.
- Mumakil will no longer move abnormally fast after being hit with fear/terror.
- Dwarven Guardian Forged Blades upgrade coding bug removed.
- Fixed an issue where destroying a Burrow Expansion whilst hordes of troops were in the process of garrisoning would cause the game to crash.
- Fixed an issue where Hour of the Witch-king ability could not be used.
- Spiderlings no longer get stuck (body blocked) - should now behave similarly to Warg Packs and Dire Wolves.
- Fixed a bug where Corsairs, Spider Riders, and Noldor Warriors' weapon toggle would prevent them from firing.
- Rogash now properly dodges ranged weapons making him harder to kill.
- Fixed Black Arrows, Barbed Arrows, and Poison Arrows not being fired from rear horde members (or fail to attack in general) when units would move out of range.
- Battle Wagon and Iron Hills Catapult Oil Barrel should now correctly damage buildings (impact behaviour adjusted).
- Shelob's Webbing FX will now be visible for all graphics settings.
- Fixed an issue where Haradrim Spearmen (from Inn) would not attack at close range.
- Chill Soul (Karsh passive ability) now causes less strain on the machine.
- Fixed rare bug which caused the Fortress Fire Drake not to spawn.
- Increased the maximum limit of fire that can burn simultaneously to prevent a bug with some abilities where the fire would not render properly (I.e., Rain of Fire, Sunflare, etc).
- Men of Dale:
--- summoned banners should no longer linger after the timer has expired;
--- summoned banner now uses Men of Dale voice files (from Dwarven);
--- banner now uses Men of Dale voice files (from Dwarven).
- Gondor archers melee attack now works in close quarters combat.
- Troops no longer get stuck (body blocked) near building repair units.
- Fixed Witch-king's Sanctum projectile no longer collides with non-targeted objects.
- Uneven terrain no longer prevents Sourcerer's, Legolas' Arrow Wind, and Sauron's Rain of Fire abilities to be triggered.
- Fixed an issue where the Watcher spell could not be cast beneath upgraded Battle Wagons.
- Forces of Light Fortress healing horde replenish radius increased to 300 (from 200) to match unit healing radius.
- Archers should no longer be able to auto attack Goblin Lairs.
