It is time. Time for my first ZH tournament. The format might seems familiar to some, it is based on Call of Duty's game mode named Gun Game. However, COD wasn't the first game with this game mode, good old Soldier of Fortune already had a similar concept, and gave it the name Arsenal, hence the name of this tournament: Army Arsenal.
Format
Both players start with the same army in the tier of the round they are in.
The winner of the first match moves on to the next army, the loser picks the map for the second match and sticks with the first army. A more detailed explanation is given below.
First match is on a fixed map, after that the loser of the previous match picks the map.
This goes on and on until the final mirror (if this occurs). A mirror with the final army will be played on a fixed map too.
Each map can be picked only once, the map of the first match cannot be picked. The map for a possible final mirror is allowed to be picked.

Rules
Gentool version 8.0 or higher mandatory Upload mode has to be on
Our Fair Play Rules apply. Placing scaffolds beyond their intended purpose to build and complete the structures are not allowed with the exception of:
Removing GLA scraps at any time and any location on the map
Blocking vehicles from running over GLA workers within close proximity of the GLA supply
Forcing guarding enemy air units within close scaffold proximity to shoot onto the ground
Placing for survival purposes to keep units alive but not interfering with enemy units or buildings
Placing within own base proximity at start of match to trick opposing waypoint scouting efforts
Livestream mandatory for the final. Would be nice to have streams for earlier rounds too, so please ask if there is a streamer available.
What will happen if a game ends in a disconnect, crash or mismatch? If the game mismatches or someone disconnects, the game will have to be re-played unless there was a clear winner at the point of disconnection/crash/mismatching. In this case that player will be awarded the victory. If you are unable to agree on this, upload the replay and a tournament referee will decide.
Players not being able to play before the deadline will be removed from the tournament. Based on the effort of either player, I will select the player that goes through the next round. However, if needed, an extension can be given in some circumstances. In this case, let me know as soon as possible.
If the number of signups exceeds 32 players, an additional tier will be added for round 1. The current tier for round 1 will be used in round 2 and so on. If the number of signups is less than 16, one tier will be removed.
Deadlines Closing signups: 30 november (also drawing of the bracket) Round 1: 8 December Round 2: 15 December Round 3: 22 December Round 4: 29 December With reservation
For example, player A faces player B in the first round. The first match is a tox mirror on [RANK] Storm Valley. The winner of this match advanced to the next army, which is laser. The loser sticks with tox and picks the map. Player A wins the first match, the second match is laser (player A) versus tox (player B), on a map of B's choosing. If player A wins the second match, next match will be gla (A) vs tox (B) on a map picked by player B. If player B wins the second match, the next match will be laser (A) vs laser (B), player A picks now the map. In this example, player A did win the second match. If he wins the next match also, the fourth match is inf (A) vs tox (B), B's map pick. Player A is now on match point, if he wins this match, he wins the whole set and advanced to the next round. If player B wins it, the next match is inf (A) vs laser (B). Map choice is now for player A, who is still on matchpoint. If player B wins that match, next match will be inf (A) vs gla (B), map choice is again for player A (A again on matchpoint). Player B did also win the inf vs gla, the next and final match is an inf mirror. Now the loser doesn't get to pick the map, the last mirror is always on a fixed map. The fixed map can be seen under the heading Maps, which is [RANK] Silicon Valley ZH V1. The winner of this match advanced to the next round.
NOTE If there are any questions, things that need some further explanation or suggestions on how to improve the rules that are mentioned above, let me know before the tournament starts. In that case, I can make some adjustments without worrying about a possible disadvantage to players that already played their matches. Don't complain about the rules afterwards.

Just to encourage your first zh tournoment, will put my big name here
nice format good job, just a previous feedback, first 3 rounds are gla mirrors, fourth is air, why final also is air? Is not better to be some china mirror? Plus why two rounds start with toxin mirror?

First of all, welcome
The aim was to start off with a good army, followed by a slightly less army and so on. If I put a China as first army, it is hard to come with a tier that has the armies ranked from good to worse. I do have a tier with 4 armies with nuke as first army, maybe I use this one in the first round. Thanks for the feedback, I get your point. Maybe I make some adjustments though.

what kind of name is this for a tourney.. Will it be as drab and garbage as Arsenal are?
The first game I played with this format. I first had Army Game (instead of Gun Game) as name, but thought Army Arsenal was better so we have some banter about football clubs too, all about the drama

Detailed explanation format
