Hi guys.. so now that we have a final r12/r11 out I want to host again.
So I am busy with family and guests and stuff so the rules/format will be fleshed out some time mid January.
Basic format will be group stage into Brackets This time there will be DOUBLE Elimination in bracket stage so it won't be one and done..
If you want reference..look at my potato site to see an idea of how things went down.. But everything will be finalized and sorted out mid January Also it won't be a BH open again..
All factions will be played and used within the group stage and the bracket stage which will be implemented through certain faction rules.
So if you want to win this you must be versed in all 9 factions..
Take January as a training and grinding month to get your 1v1 game up to it's best form.
For now..simply reply if you want to play in it.. and what time is best for you and what time zone you are in.
Example: Incapaisa Eastern Standard time Best time: 12:00pm EST time
Please put a specific time that is best and convenient for you. Don't put "any time is fine for me" please..as a specific time will help me sort out a best time for all. Simple...
Having everyone's best time I can properly make it to an average as close as possible so all can Play ...
The event will take place the FOUR SUNDAYS in February (19th) and if needed stretch to March due to double eliminations.
Prize pool from 1000-1500.. still to be determined
UPDATED RULES: *** NO substitutions. If you fail to show you will be DQ and forfeit your place within the tournament! *** All players must have legit access to the revora server and not be banned from online play. I will not make accommodations for banned players(such as gameranger etc.)
Believe it or not inca, I had a dream about you last night. In it I found out you had a poker profile and had been playing for two years, you had earnings around 800k in your first year and like 60k in the past two months of this year.
I probably won't be active when this takes place, just wanted to throw that out there because of how weird it was.
Okay so regarding the factions: I feel its my belief the winner of this tournament should be equally versed in all the factions and subfactions. Rather than it being a nod/bh fest of bike/buggie into scorp spam games.
Which from a viewer perspective it gets kind of lame seeing the same thousand bike/buggie/scorp spam to ultimately determine the winner of games. This was just me observing the commentary within the chat during the live streams that chaos striker and spartacus provided during the tournament. After seeing the 27th BH mirror it comes to a point of just hard being hyped as a spectator.
When the inca open was basically BH 99% of the time other than having the strike faction rules you can see this was a major problem.
From a player perspective and competitive aspect I can see players choosing the best faction in the game to achieve the goal of obtaining victory regardless of balance or the meta. So I can understand the opposition regarding any faction rules or strikes or any restrictions etc. especially when money is on the line. But I am doing this for the players and also for the spectators who come to see the games and enjoy the elite "pros" battle it out on the highest level.
I am trying to find a balance in between both dilemmas. I played a little of R12..but not enough to come to complete conclusion to determine its balance.
In my opinion I still feel BH is still the most OP faction since they feel the same. Minus the recknoner speed(in which they lose that key opening) they still feel dominant and OP but this all from my limited play time with R12 as I am a casual player. So for me it's hard to determine the current meta and I am just making a prediction based on my limited amount of games with R12.
It is my attempt to strike a balance with enjoyment for the viewers and faction viability for the players.
I mean really...do we want another BH/NOD fest again? Maybe Technique does since he stated he don't enjoy GDI/Scrin but how exactly can I address this faction conundrum.
So since I am proposing Double elimination , the bracket stage will not be a best of 7 and the finals a best of 9... Far to many matches for the players to play and not fair for one to get eliminated based on one series from the feedback I gathered from the first time around.
So far my plan is to do this set up: Group stage: Best of 3 You select one Nod, one GDI, and one Scrin(whether it be the vanilla or subfaction variant) Here in group stages..often the best 2/3 players will advance regardless as they should win the series. Maybe we can get an upset here and there but if the players show up it should not be hard to predict who will win just based on the player skill level as a whole.
Brackets: Best of 5 So we have 9 factions.. you strike out 4 factions you do not want to use. So Example: Player A: strikes out ST,Mok,Zocom,Reaper and elects to go Gdi,Nod,Bh,Scrin,Traveler as his faction choice
Player B: (A hypothetical NOD player like Technique) strikes out ST,Reaper,Zocom,Scrin and elects his factions to be Nod,Bh,Mok,Gdi,Trav
So in this scenario player B can possibly win and shut out 3-0 if he wins all his game and successfully do this only with NOD factions while Player A if they win it will be due to him being well versed within all the factions and subfactions.
Player A would be rewarded being more versed in the event it goes to game 5 while player B will be the strongest if they are really really good with one faction and its subset so they can hold that advantage in the event they don't lose any games in the series.
This will incentivize players to focus on being all around good with at minimum 5 factions. While the one faction lovers can focus on their strength faction and hope to win all their matches, thus not playing a weak faction they do not prefer.
Semifinals & Finals: If the player made it this far they grinded through the groups and brackets stage thus must have a high level of skill or play. You won't get here by sheer luck, or at least in theory. So both series will be best of 7. Same format of striking out the factions but game 1 of both series will be Vanilla faction vs Vanilla faction so both player A & B will strike out 3 factions thus leaving them 6 factions they can use from game 2-7. If a player is strong with one faction.. say a Scrin pro.. Hypothetically they can play scrin game 1, game 2-4 go trav, reap, scrin again..thus winning 4-0.. Of course a player being well versed in all the factions can stand to lose a game or 2 and be much more competitive in a long drawn out 6 or 7 game series.
Honestly guys I am doing this for the community and for the enjoyment of competition but after doing it one time it became painfully obvious that players elected the strongest faction and went ham to win.. which is ok and the best interests for the player since there is money on the line but for us spectators it really isn't the best or ideal situation.
Remember I am doing this for the players and the viewers..the community in whole.
Now these faction rules or restrictions are not written in stone and I am flexible to negotiate and listen to other viable solutions to our faction problem. If you have a better solution or something different you care to offer I am all open ears and willing to listen to what you guys want.
But to NOT have any restrictions or strike rules we will have another BH/NOD fest which I predict. I played a little R12 and still feel BH is still the superior choice. Other than not being able to open Recknoner rush first they still have a multitude of advantages and openings which other factions like Reaper or zocom can not really match or offer. Of course this is based on a few games of R12 which I played but I reckon as we further play the patch in the upcoming weeks we can better come to a conclusion about the current meta. Some say Gdi is now strong and more than capable of taking on BH since the recknoner is not as much as a viable threat.
Me..I don't know...I barely play this game..simply because Overwatch,Titanfall2 and Last of Us takes my time currently thus there is only so many hours within the day to focus on what you can play.
Either way..let me know what you think.. I am open to negotiation..If you have a better solution or propose something..better..I'm all for it.

lol..omg.. I feel privileged to be part of your dream.. I hope I was wearing a fresh tailored suit in it..
Ironically I played a little poker about 2 years ago and took a few trips to the casino here at Mohegan Sun.
Didn't do to bad but also not good enough for the time invested in playing multiple hands/hours. Wish my poker game was better..but oh well real estate and investments worked out better for me..thank god..
btw can u not be stupid like last time ? letting techquie back in because phoix didnt show. should of won anyway but point is when a player is out he should stay out if allowed in he should have to beat the player in 5 bo 2 times.
