This topic is made so the community can discuss what rules are to be used and how we should make the tournament.

I want to mention that, all things that are related to tiberian dawn in the text will be adjusted to match Red Alert instead. ( I copied the sett up from Tiberian dawn to save my self some time)

Discuss the rules, the maps, etc. I will edit this topic as we discuss smile.gif
how the tournament currently looks

Dates and Time

The tournament takes place over the month of March. It starts from 00:00 GMT 01/03/2021 and lasts up until the 26/03/2021 00:00 GMT.

Players are free to agree upon a time to play their games. Some limitations, however, do apply:
  • Round 1 Games must occur over the first week of March
  • Round 2 Games must occur over the second week
  • Round 3 Games must occur over the third
  • Round 4+ Games must occur over the fourth
Once started, all matches for a round must be completed one after another. You cannot have one game on Monday, then one on Wednesday, and the last one on Friday for example.

If you encounter difficulties or issues agreeing upon a time with your opponent, you can reach out to a Referee to arbitrate.

There will be a Forum Topic where arrangements and confirmations about times for your upcoming matches can be made with other players.

To compare GMT to your local timezone, you may use one of the following internet services: greenwichmeantime, timeanddate, timezoneconverter.

This tournament will run on the Gamereplays.org Official Server, please confirm that you are able to access it before joining this event. When signing up, please state the username under which you will play in the tournament. It is preferable for your in-game and discord name to match so your opponents/referees may find you easily.

Placements
  • First Place - $20

  • Edvin

  • Except for the Grand Finals, where it will be a best of 5.
Signing up and checking in

Signups
Sign ups end by Friday the 28th of Febuary at 17:00 GMT.

Entries after this time may be accepted at the discretion of the tournament organizers.

Check-ins
Once you are signed up and the bracket has been shuffled. You have to let your opponent know when you have time to play. Preferably this can be done over the forums here. But it can also be done in the GameReplays discord.

Please note, Commanders, letting someone else play in your name in the event is treated as cheating and will be punished accordingly. The fixed penalty for a first offence cheat conviction prescribed by the site rules is a 28 day suspension from GameReplays. The penalty for a second offence is a permanent ban.

Communications during the tournament
During the tournament, you may need to get in contact with other players or the referees. This can be done via the Gamereplays.org Official Discord channel where there is a dedicated ‘Remastered Tournaments’ -> #general chat room available. Please ensure you can access this chat room before the start of the tournament to prevent any issues on the day.

Streaming
As the tournament will take place over the month of March, players are welcome to stream their own games or watch others play. Please ensure you keep a delay 5 minutes or more on your stream to prevent stream sniping.

A bit foggy on this one. I am not sure what you meant with stream their own games or while watching others playing.

Result Reporting

After the winner of each round is determined, it is the responsibility of the winning player to report the victory. There is a short guide on how to do this
available here.

The following is required to report your results:
  • Update score and upload replays to the corresponding 'Bracket, Results and Replays' forum topic in the format: Danku 2 - 1 Khanomancer.
  • @mention a referee in Discord to quickly confirm your result and that you have updated the corresponding 'Bracket, Results and Replays' forum topic.
Registration

Please note, there are further rules and information listed in the sign up forum topic. Please make sure you are aware of these as well. If you accept the rules and wish to participate in this tournament, please post in the tournament discussion topic and give the online username you will be using.

Registration for the event closes 1 hour before the event is due to start. Entries after that time may be accepted at the discretion of the tournament organizers but under no circumstances will entries be accepted after check-ins have closed.

Please make sure you can access the Gamereplays.org Official Discord Server BEFORE you sign up for the event.

Please do not sign up if you are not 100% sure that you will be attending the tournament.

If something comes up and you are unable to attend the tournament, please post in the tournament discussion topic at once so that your slot may be reallocated to another player. Failure to show up without in-advance cancellation may result in exclusion from future tournaments.

We hope to see you on the battlefield, Commanders!

Definitely would recommend the following rules.

-No turkey faction
-No placing silos in unreachable positions
-If there's a seeding system, lower seed hosts first and gets to pick spot (assuming first map is picked by map elim). When series starts, the loser of each game hosts next match and picks map and spot

As far as map pool goes, I know there's a few maps outside of regular QM pool that the community might want to add. That would be best discussed in the discord

Had a lull in work - some feedback:

Remove this (replace with rules sheriff outlines or whatever the community is gonna actually use - be clear if specifying no silos what the definition of unreachable is, and if no turkey clarify why on the rules so people don't moan about it)

QUOTE

Special Rule #1 - No Engineers & Transport Unit Combinations
Participants in this tournament must not use Engineers with Chinhooks/APCs. Participants may still build engineers and use them by walking around the map. If an engineer enters an APC or Chinhook the offending player will forfeit that match and the point for that round will go to the opponent.

Update the Maps & Spawns:

QUOTE

Map pool and Spawn positions

Map Pool

Green Acres - bottom left vs top right
Monkey In The Middle - top left vs bottom right
Heavy Metal - top left vs bottom right
Quarry - only two spawn points
Elevation - only two spawn points
Tournament Middle Camp - only two spawn points
Duality 3.6 - only two spawn points

Re check-in, you might just want to do this via a forum rather than getting PM's on discord yourself, but up to you.
QUOTE

Check-ins
You must notify a referee of your intention to play a game at least 24 hrs in advance.

Re seeding, if its going to be shuffled this impacts the fairness/advantage given to players in terms of map choices/spawns as highlighted by Sheriff.

Typo February -> March

As the tournament will take place over the month of February

Re results reporting - might want to re-record the youtube link, that was made for groundhogbrawl specifically, I dont mind if you want to reuse it here for ease.

Something that came up during our current tourny was players being late, maybe outline if a player is 15minutes late to their per-arranged time they are elligible for disqualification to help deter that kind of behaviour.

Edited the wrong post xD//Edvin
