Was lurking a bit here for the nostalgia and I noticed that the recent replays have really high number of downloads, some even over 1000. Only a handful of people still play this game so I don't see how that's possible.
As a point of reference, even the hall of fame replays only have a couple of hundred downloads.
Maybe the files were downloaded by the infamous 100 players who are always online.
Or the numbers might be due to the fact that many of these replays were on the front page for almost a year with as little as three or four downloads per day. Perhaps the downloaders couldn't find a game, but they still wanted to know what online gameplay is like.
I don't know what counts as an active player. I would say there are now less than 20 players who come online at least once a month. The vast majority of them don't watch replays.

Anybody know whats up?
