Good evening,

Blizzard Entertainment, the creators of World of Warcraft and StarCraft II, have begun the second phase of beta testing for its newest game, Overwatch.

Overwatch is due to launch on the 24th of May this year and Blizzard are planning to have their open beta start earlier that month. As stated in the news post made by Blizzard, players will need to pre-order the game to gain access to two beta codes. One code will be for themselves while the other one can be given to a friend. These codes will give you access to the beta from May 3rd and 4th. Don't forget when you pre-order, you will also acquire an exclusive skin for the Widowmaker.

For the rest of the community the open beta will be launched on the 5th of May and will last until the 9th of May. Sadly for some community members, any achievements or unlocks you gain during the beta will be reset before the game launch. We have good news for our console gamers, because the beta will also be available on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

So to summarize, you can join an Open Beta for you and a friend from May 34 by pre-ordering the game. After that, everyone will have a chance to play for free during an all-access Open Beta period from May 59.

You can check out more details by viewing the developers' update below:

You can also take a look at the news post Blizzard made about the beta.

Let us know in the comments what you are looking forward to most in Overwatch!
