Don't go near them with your Crawler then?

And they cost a whooping 10PP to be built. Just kill them with your army after the Shield stops working.
They can only freeze you for a couple of seconds.

Or just kill their Crawler then the Towers will go off-line.

But best tip is to not charge in with your Crawler versus a tier 3 GDI Crawler.
Similar issue can happen to GDI when facing Basilisk armies, they can just spam static shields and freeze your armies down.

On that note how could a GDI Support player counter a balistic spam. The only counters are the palatin and the thunderhead. The thunderhead takes too much dammage from the balistics laser and the palatin doesn't have enough health to stand up to balistics, especially with spectum beam upgrade

Go with mirror coat or displacement field support power. If you have 50 support points I think you can get mirror coat and overkill together. If you use these with Paladins and you have a spanner or 2 you should be ok.

you can also try mixing in maybe one or two thunder with paladins. The thunderhead has a greater attack range and does more damage I think and with paladins in between it creates a sort of buffer. Also keep in mind you can attack more than one unit with lasers if they are in line attack the one in the back and the lasers will do some damage as they pass through the other. I tend to have a habit of always using shields and don't forget to use the spanners weapon dampeners.

Since Kodiaks are artillery units; the unit that counters Defense Class. I would suggest to get help from a support player.

But of course, you could try to not 'feed' the player, like building Shields after Shields to hold your ground. Sell all damaged turrets/shields before they get destroyed. Just hold your ground until help arrives.

And yeah, you could also try to do hit-and-run tactics with a Reckoner + Reapers/High Confessors.
Matter of fact I think this would work the best. Also if you are tier 3 upgrade them with the Drill tip. Sneak under or behind the Kodiaks and then hit them with the Lasers shooting out of the Reckoners.

Or Nuke them.

Hope that helps.

A question for the specialist. How do u defeat GDI defender with static shield? once they lock down my crawler they just keep building new one and I can't do anything at all.

just some tips for statis shields (gdi def/ nod basalisks/)
Use it to your advantage..... so he likes to freeze your crawler does he? well he cant shoot or damage it when it is in statis... and if it reoccurring then thats one invunerable crawler you have lol! if your support send your crawler in and use a doulbe attack..... hitting with your units from another angle your crawler will be invunerable and your units will kill (use artillery units for best results). same with offence. A 2 pronged attack dont keep everything together.
if you crawler is damaged and they stasis field (applies to basalisk statis as well ) delete. its a free delete time. Its happened so many times to me.... im nearly dead and the stasis junkies on the map get carried away and freeze me. i hit delete and i spawn much quicker, i have full health, and maybe cand mixed army (off tanks, sup crawler etc) and dont give away 50cp for my crawler.
make it an advantage you have nothing to worry about if they continue to do this..... a shield is for defence!... better used for allowing time to delete any damaged units or crawlers on your team (so one for YOUR crawler if it low on health). if your attacking a tier3 def with statis fields i assume you have a sufficient army to win. jsut make him choose your crawler or you army and dont send both together.
ALSO for GDI def tier 3 only stealth detection unit is the engineer? im not a def expert but if there isnt an engineer in sight, hold fire on stealth army so it doesnt auto attack and your crawler. walk right next to him making sure all units are inside his main crawler shield and attack crawler. its a speedy hit and run and rarely will they get the shield out and generally the shield will be used properly and used to freeze and delete their own crawler. Works better for stealth tanks as spectre need a little distance between them abd their target so many end up moving outside the main crawler shield.... full cp of stealth tanks will take out a def crawler out with no healing in about 10-12 seconds.
full cp stealth tanks> hold fire on all of them > check for engineer/stealth detection> if none go insde def crawler main shield (avoid and crystal shields already build of course) > once def crawler surrounded FIRE> 15 seconds later its clean up time for turrets biggrin.gif

Hi specialist!

What do you recommend when playing Nod defense and you encounter Kodiaks (with or without archangel support)?

Regardless of tier, Nod defense doesn't seem to have much that can counter these. All infantry units get pretty much owned by Kodiaks. Even high confessors get nailed pretty quickly and dont damage Kodiaks enough to kill them before being killed.

Is the answer just to retreat and call in support (Basilisks hopefully)?

First question from thread tongue.gif

I just thought of this, what about 'popping out' Inceniration Turrets to fend of the Kodiaks? As both are artillery. Point is to give the Kodiaks the 'burn DoT' so they are forced to move around. Could work as a scaring mechanism.
And dismantle the Turret when it nears death.

And recently noticed that Shields seem to absorb artillery shells a lot, I first thought shields from Crystal shield etc were weak versus Blast, but it seems Juggernaut and Specter shells to minimal damage to these shields. So maybe building a couple disruption towers will make Kodiaks firepower dampened. Dismantle near dead towers.

Repeat until help arrives. ^^

What exactly do I have to do to defeat spanner spam? I am talking about dealing with early-mid game spanner spam (when there aren't any nukes or upgraded basisliks). Any tips.

marauders or buggies are the best for it, marauders are slightly better though with the corrosive damage.

I would say marauders as well. If you have pretty-much full CP marauders, spanners are pretty much screwed wink.gif!

If you have SP to spare, you can cast Eyes of the People to boost your Marauders' range, and Demoralize to slow down the Spanners (both abilities cost 10 SP each). The spanners can get rid of the Demoralize, but they have to actually stop moving for a second to cast their System Restore. Usually 3-4 Marauders are enough for a full Spanner spam. Also, if the spanners aren't well-microed, then try to catch them while they're stacked on top of each other.

Venom spam can also kill spanners and usually can keep them running instead of healing, but I'm not sure if this can make a significant dent on a player with full CP spanner spam and a bunch of them queued up.

Hi all!

Been playing CnC lately (again) and one question came up. In a Hunter vs Avenger situation ppl tend to move the units forwards, backwards and it seems the tanks never stand still. Is there a tactic behind it as I know that Hunters firing whilst moving and Avenger don't? What would you recommend if opponent got Hunter with engis? Is Avenger in combination with Raider the best solution?

Thx for help!

If you are Nod then you could mix in a couple Engineers yourself for good healing. Or get help from a support, Marauders could do short work of the GDI healing Engineers.

But if you are alone, then Avengers + Engineers, maybe 2-3 microed Raiders could snipe off the Engineers.

From what I understand players pull back their tanks so they can heal it with their engis or at least decom low health ones. I believe that this may be one of the tactic behind in this forward backward attack approach.

afaik both tanks can shoot while moving, correct me if I'm wrong ph34r.gif

If you're not tibbing, I suggest that you either go full Avengers or support them with Engis. Then pick off their Engis with your tanks. The Raider approach sounds good too, as it can be a good harassment tool for the Engis so you can force them to run away from the tanks that they are trying to heal. This might help draw away the fire to your tanks as they try to attempt to kill them if the player feels his Engis are threatened by your Raiders.

If you're going full Avengers, the defensive stance seems effective over the tank + engi combo. As the DPS inflicted by them seems to outpace the healing efforts of the Engis, provided that we're talking about a 1v1 faceoff on a multiplayer match of 3 and above. I think you can go offensive against them too and chase off those Engis away from them biggrin.gif

Pardon the necro lol.
