Absolutely. Vega 64 is going for €800/900 here, it's crazy. I will probably keep gaming on my secondary 1080p screen while I save up or wait for prices to come down.
For the time being I'm content. The screen is massive coming from a 24" 1080p screen. 144hz is super sexy too. It's definitely an investment and I can't see myself changing screens for years to come.
Vacations are nice. Spending a week away can clear your mind like nothing else can. Makes you think about things. I want to travel more and switch jobs as my current one is boring me. Switching jobs will give me more €€€ for traveling too, so that's another plus.
I doubt your monitor has both. AFAIK nVidia finally decided to support Freesync, but that does not mean that monitors have both. They're using Gsync as a way to classify Freesync monitors that they're up to their standards. Which means that Freesync will get a Gsync-ready sticker, but it still does not have actual Gsync (the actual hardware module that makes Gsync screens more expensive).
GTX 970, though I'll upgrade it to something that support FreeSync soon (the Nvidia update doesn't include 9 series cards). Core i5-4690K 16GB DDR3 RAM
