i look at it as a thing for a new player to the lotr book and game to look at that and see what lord of the rings is like also while geting a little info on the game 2.

but anyways very good.

To me, it's not so much a guide, nor an article, but a manual for the game. It gives the history and background, then shows how these elements are implemented in gameplay.

It's the book that should have come with the game in the first place biggrin.gif

I wouldn't break it up. It just doesn't fit exactly the 'form' that people expect. No problem, it's a new form, and a jewel as it is.

Great job Centaur thumb.gif

Wow, this is a terrific compilation of information !! thumb.gif Well done !! bowdown.gif bowdown.gif bowdown.gif

I hadn't known about Smeagol's original name "Trahald".
What was your source? Maybe there's a Tolkien book out there I haven't read yet.

I do have a few tidbits which may be of interest for your article.
  • Saruman was (like Sauron) a Maia of Aule <Sauron's entry has that noted, but not Saruman's>
  • Gandalf was a Maia of Manwe
  • Galadriel was born in the Blessed Realm (Valinor) during the time of the Two Trees and thus well before the First Age (as was listed in the article if I correctly understood the "FA").
But those are minor items. It's a great article!!

BTW, did you know that Tolkien had his own term for Elvish "immortality". He called it "Serial Longevity" [he would also refer (in the HoME books) to elves as being "Serially Longeval"] by which he attempted to distinguish between
  • Living forever. That is, life with no end (ie: immortality) -and-
  • Life as long as the world ("Ea", the world that IS) which tho long in count of years was still finite (the created world had a beginning and would have an ending beyond which the Elves had no guarantee of existence).
The Eldar were granted the second of these and it was a source of some concern for them (as related in the "Athrabeth Finrod a Andreth" published in, I believe, HoME vol X "Morgoth's Ring").

It is good and looks like it took alot of time and effort. But what is it supposed to be?

A guide?
Article?
Sorry for all the critism, don't take it the wrong way it is all great just layed out wrong sad.gif

What? huh.gif It is a summary of character information. It is "laid" correctly.
By the way, sorry for the spelling "criticism", it is all good.
