But the old skoolers never really left, dozens will be pros on day one, considering how simple the game is compared with what we've gone through all these years.
It will be fun to see how good those 'pros' really are. They are supposed to be the best because of all their training and experience. But when someone comes with better game sense, how long will their head start last?
In Tiberian Dawn, players will likely play GDI mostly, since NOD vehicles are brought in by plane, and if your on the wrong side of the map, you have to wait for the drop, for Red Alert 1, its going to be Soviet (sub-faction Russia) due to the Tesla tank, and Allies (sub-faction France) because of fake buildings
I don't expect old pro players (if they come back) to stick around for too long unless EA makes significant balance changes to the game (which I do not expect them to make). People who have left more complex games like ZH or TW won't come back for simplified games like TD or RA 1 and actually stick around.
In my view, majority of pro players from previous C&Cs will ignore the remasters. A smaller portion will try the game. A small of portion of the small portion who tries the games will stick around.
The games will be kept alive by casual players and pro players from new generation.
Foregoing any balance change seems like a bad idea.
Would the casual players even notice their love from 20 years ago is slightly different? It's not a woman we're talking about, it's an ageless mass of data.
Just going to have to see what happens, I don't expect alot of pro players from past CNC games to return (since many of them have quit gaming all together, and or play other games, or have families), but I do expect some to return, because its Tiberian Dawn, and RA1 after all, that is where it all began.
