yeah 2 should do it however, last night on harvest day conquest i was in a 100 health tank and i stopped when i saw 1 landmine the 1 landmine 2m away promptly blew up and kill me instantly, and the user didnt even have the explosives spec
you sir, didn't happen to see the other one than I saw tanks dying to one mine, and i saw tanks surviving one mine... That's why i asked, was kinda confused thanks though
Yeah if the tank is damaged one mine might do it, but if your using them, always put down two, just to make sure. But you can toss that third one down somewhere else, you might get lucky and bag a jeep, or at the very least you'll get some vehicle damage points and make it easier to finish off.
yeah but you can only have 6 mines at most on a field at a time and if u space them too close then 1 shot will detonate your whole mine field and maybe kill your teammates

An excellent point. I found that laying them in little groups of 2 worked the best. Because a lot of times, if the driver sees one group and detonates them, he'll drop his guard, and gun it around the corner right into the next set.

The land-mine has a 6 meters infantry kill zone. Although it does 865 Explosive (side and rear bonuses don't count) Damage, it does a good 290 damage to infantry in the 6 meters zone, which decreases gradually to 0 damage at 8 meters. I can tell you that the mine reacts to anything that comes half a meter to it and explodes, but I don't know if the blast radius affects adjacent mines.
Also, DenKirson (the guy whose tables you all refer to) has discovered that a single mine can sometimes (not that commonly) kill a full health tank. Also he has reasons to believe that the underside of vehicles is more vulnerable to damage, but that's not confirmed yet.
From my own experience, the mines are inconsistent. It takes 2 mines in 90% of the cases to kill a Tank/APC, but I do recall seeing only a single mine doing it.
1 mine does 865 damage to a vehicle. Tanks and APCs have 1250 health.
So it would take 2 mines to destroy a tank/APC.
Actually, tanks have a damage multiplier of 2x from the sides and rear, so if the mine detonates at either the sides or rear of the tank or APC, one mine will suffice since it will do 2 x 865 = 1730, well above the 1250 health of the vehicle. In most cases the mine will detonate in front, doing 1 x 865 = 865 damage, in which case 2 mines are needed. But if you are flanking a tank, you can lay one behind him and wait for him to back up (you can encourage him to by drill-damaging him, making him fall back into the natural direction: backwards) or you can lay a mine to his side and toss a grenade at it or shoot it. Either way, the explosion of 1 AT mine will destroy the heavy vehicle if placed at its side or rear.

yes, but the mine in my case was infront of me, and quite a distance away, so i suppose that 1 mine is inconsistent, but 2 will always do
Actually guys the Mine doesn't take side and rear into consideration. It does explosive damage which doesn't count the multipliers. Only weapons that aside from doing explosive also do projectile damage count. Those are the RPG-7, the CG and the AT4.
I've killed a couple tanks with one mine and a grenade, where I run up toss the mine on the side of the tank, huck the grenade on to the AT mine then scram. I'm pretty sure they had full health, but it was pretty random whether it'd happen or not. I also had improved explosives.
I find if I get dooped by a mine at full health, and I've seen other folk get whacked this way too, it's because "the mine" was in fact 2 or 3 mines clumped together. If one goes off, the other/s beside it will detonate too.
