Yes I agree that was bad. For the next tournaments there must be a strict pointtable. Anyway I guess Troll (+Dune?) will post the rule soon.

We can do the rules here. Not if or but but if players both reach 5 wins as the second scoring statistic then they should play out to decide who wins between them in my opinion.

If you are happy to we can on same rule a simple 2-1 takes the tie through. Otherwise would would reflect and think the two on 5 deserved another go.

It should be counted on wins and ignore the negative. The second round again should be counted on wins so that a player could reach a final by another tie.

All games bo3. 2 best players will advance to next round.
HF Guys! We can play tournament! Post your replays here!

In my humble opinion, with the rules we were given, although not explicitly stated in the event of a "match tie" then the next tie breaker would be "win/loss" and after that "head to head"

Easy for me to say though since all of those scenarios lead to me advancing, assuming mergin doesn't win out.

For instance in nfl football(sorry foreigners)
Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.

That is utter bollocks...we count both wins and loses not only wins lol. I wanted to W/L (matches) ratio to have bigger impact then Score but others think different. Yet still we count it all.

Don't worry, I'm sure this will all get sorted out...However when I messaged the tourney organizer on gameranger he didn't seem to know what the word "tie" meant.

BTW...if I count right you and Sammy are both 5/5 Score and 2/2 W/L. Not Sammy 5/6.

However I think that the match between you 2 should be decisive thus Strider goes into next stage if MERG1N doesnt win vs Alan.
However this is my opinion only no matter how I think its justified.

Vrs Drefan 2-1 his first win on Fangorn

I think you'll find fishy, that me 2-0 vs dref and sammy 2-1 gives him one more loss than me

Same as I wrote in other group imo (and in most other official competitive sport events) first the wins are counted (cause normally you get points for these). if 2 players have same amount of wins (=points) next step, and here there are different approaches in different sports and leagues, would be to either check the win/loss ratio of single games or the head-to-head result. win/loss ratio would be 0 for Strider and -1 for Myth. Therefor Strider would advance. If its decided by head-to-head Strider advances aswell, since he won his games vs Myth.

Only time when a deciding extra game could be considered is if both players have exact same stats and tied in their head-to-head group game. Since that was not possible cause of bo3 it can't be the case here. Only case in this tournament with extra games would be if 3 players have same stats and won against each other in a circle.

I agree with Felix
We must considering to all our data: W/L and Score (w/l on players).
First we considering W/L, if some players have same W/L, we will need to consider score.

Otherwise situation (if we ignore Score), we must come up with a new criterion for evaluation of players, what looks a bit silly

Well I guess you mean Score > W/L > head-to-head.

Well I guess you mean Score > W/L > head-to-head.

Score > W/L > head-to-head or W/L >Score > head-to-head

Order does not matter. We must take both criterion into account.
For example, we can compare 2 players:
First has 3/1 (score), and 6 : 2 (W/L)
Second has too 3/1 (score) but have 7:2 (W/L; cuz one meeting with the player has been counted 1:2)
=> second player is better than first

For exnample 2
u and Fishy, u both have 6:5 W/L, but Fishy have 3/1 streak, and u 2/2

Good luck Strider,

I will have to to take it more seriously next tourney, this has been good practice I enjoyed it but I really should of got a 6th win and then it would be settled.

I dropped games vrs Alan, Merg1n and I did lurtz vrs Striders rohan which was poor. Having said that Drefans Mordor on Fangorn proved to much off host, he played really well and I fed to much for rog trying to kill catas.

I think the order is the only thing that we have been discussing about all this time, and it clearly matters. And I also think you have mixed up the terms "Score" and "W/L" in your table.
Anyway we need a clear decision here, A or B.
