Imagine the sight of it! So beautiful. The wonders of the dual stick shooter brought to Kane's Wrath in a map. Well that's the idea.

Basically, you go around the map with a ship, or in this case a single unit which you control trying to avoid contact with other units/enemies. The goal is to score the best high score.
  1. 3D Birds eye view
  2. Single unit, maybe a scorpion for Nod, a predator for GDI and a seeker for Scrin?
  3. Borders
  4. The camera will stay in one location
  5. The enemies will get gradually harder and possibly faster the longer your in the game fighting.
That's the basics of it! Let's see what we can do shall we? thum.gif

I'm liking this, we can do this! But we could do a movable camera instead to create a 3d parallax in top down view.

  • Created a map 80x80.
  • Changed map pitch to 85 to have an almost top down view.
  • Added a reflection layer

  • Created Cyberwalls in 3ds max. Current object consists of 3 planes (meshes), a hierarchy and a container. Each plane has its own texture and two of the planes have animated textures that move against eachother.
  • Given Cyber Scorpion a blue-ish trail, similar to the vertigo.
  • Changed traditional treadmarks for neon glow treadmarks (needs more work)

  • Added Cyber Scorpion.
  • Updated Cyber Scorpion locomotor to make it much more responsive.
  • Added salvager module to the tank to allow upgrades purchase later.
  • Given the Cyber Scorpion a fast shooting laser.

  • Added points system for final score
  • Added automated wave counter
  • Updated fanatic AI to add a delay between spawning and attacking.

  • Added 5 animations to the floor grid
  • Added ground decals for all units
  • Updated track treads (removed them for the time being)
  • Changed fanatics death explosions to that of a sonic shell

  • Decreased Fanatics unit speed from 75 to 50.
  • Increased Cyber Tank damaged speed locomotor from 50 to 75.

  • Updated the floor grid code and it now correctly pulsates its house color (thank you Stygs!)
  • Added dummy players to give the floor differing colors (red, gold, blue, cyan and green).

To do:
  • Disable veterancy.
  • Adjust salvager values (not always recycling).
  • Adjust weaponset.
  • Adjust turret turn speed (too slow when matched with the new locomotor).
  • Create special power upgrades.
  • Introduce bosswaves (every 10 waves?).
  • Add epic soundtrack(s?).
  • Add animated electronic boards for that arcade feel.
  • Add voice act.
  • Add transparant floor grid.
  • Add other tanks as option (choose from construction tab?)

Floor grid texture, at 50% opacity with reflections of the above units if at all possible.


My music choice, do you think it's too head on or should we go for something more like trance?

  1. Give the tank 3 weapons
  2. Give the tank a drone upgrade
  3. Give the tank the ability to switch weapons
  4. The weapons are as follows, flame, laser and machine gun
  5. All the above weapons must do different amounts of damage and some may be better at killing groups and some may be better at killing single enemies

The damn drone won't shoot yet. I'm working on it, but I'm a little short on time. The dev boss also fails to comply to my commands when it comes to shooting. But we'll get there biggrin.gif. I'm proud of the customisability of our map actually as the house colors change loads when tinkered with.

A shock trooper that is 3-4 times the size of a normal one which fires an EMP shots (like a tripods) as fast as it would normally but doesn't fire it's disks. It would move very, very slowly and the EMP shots instead of powering down the enemy unit it would do damage. This would be one of the bosses.
