Just curious which walker you guys tend to build first. I've had pretty good success going with an assembly walker first, and getting out a few early saucers.

I like the assembly first, just because you have to blow more hardpoints to kill it then the habitant and its only an extra 200 resources.

Assy by far. It's hardcore. biggrin.gif
My favorite combo so far is 1x Assy, then 2x sci. One sci with 3x mind magnets and the other with 3x machine. GG anything.

I cheat and skip straight to science walkers. I don't even build reapers.

I usually go hab for the increased hardpoints, grunts, and price, but I have been trying early assembly as well, but that hasn't worked out entirely yet.

I actually won a match with three science walkers. Granted the opponent was using a different kind of tactic. . . it was still quite impressive.

Assembly walker all the way.

Who needs infantry when you have defilers

I go for an early suicide rush with a habitat but my first walker that I would want to hold on to is the assembly.

Habitat all the way, radation artillary owns biggrin.gif also it's cheaper then the others and with the hierarchy i have problems with resources, with the novus it's easy. wacko.gif so i say habby first it's cheaper and got artillary happy.gif

Vs Novus: Habitat
Vs Masari: Habitat most of the time. Assembly if I want to defiler rush.
Vs Hierarchy: Assembly most of the time, but sometimes I go for Lost Ones and then get an assembly so by the time his assembly attacks me, I have my own up just in time.

Take it from a H fanatic, the Habitat is easily countered by early game units of both N and M. Assembly walker is usually a safe bet.

People actually used to defiler spam-rush before they got nerfed.

It was funny, I did that vs. the game's dev to prove a point and he sent me a msg saying "enjoy it, b/c I'm nerfing those damned things" lol!

Now defilers are very niche...

Depends on a great deal of factors. In 1v1 it is generally better to go with an Assembly Walker due to it being cheaper to armor up and Saucers being extremely good against most early game units (Variants, Antimatter Tanks, Sentries, Figments, Conqs, Defilers, etc.). Masari are the one instance where a Habitat is perhaps more prudent as infantry are somewhat difficult to counter by Masari early game forces.

In 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4, it depends entirely on what role you intend to do for your team and what you intend to research (Habitat benefits most from Mutagenics, Assembly from Quantum, and Assault helps both walkers)
