The MCV wars custom game mode is officially under construction.

MCV wars is a custom game mode based upon the popular SC2 custom game, Nexus wars. MCV wars is basically a fun custom game that can help teach new players proper counters, but also competitive enough for higher skill players to have a good time. MCV wars is currently under construction and testing, with initial results being quite positive from players so far*. Me and Zypherbullet are working hard to make this game mode something everyone will enjoy, but we could use any help that we can get though to make MCV wars a success.

this page will be updated in time with an official change list, map downloads, and other info.

*testing was done using standard without mods, so testing is only preliminary at this point only.

Update:

MCV wars has been delayed somewhat for the moment in development. Things are going slow, however I have completed a 2v2 map for MCV wars and a 1v1 map is under construction presently, stay tuned for more info. Hopefully there will be more to share soon.

As promised, heres the latest update for MCV wars, one of the 1v1 maps that will be included in the MCV wars maps. This is Cityside Showdown.

Been a while since we worked on this, mostly because I couldn't get an auto rally to work.

So recently I figured out a way and we're back on track!

What's new?
Since we're in a pre-alpha fase, I'm only focussing on the main GDI faction now.
  • Players can construct tiberium spikes instead of refineries. Spikes come with 3 upgrades, each granting more money per second. For now they're tier based, but we might change that later.
  • The spikes come with a custom build-up animation.
  • All units auto rally towards their goal.
  • All units spawn aggressively - That is, in aggressive stance.
  • All units are unselectable, with the exception of hordes whose GameObjects need to be edited manually.
  • Edited the test environment to make sure AI doesn't go out of bounds.

To do:
  • Edit spike shaders to reflect their respective faction's.
  • Decide on upgrades, game flow, balance.
  • Add at least Scrin and Nod as factions.
  • Need to make choices on special powers and super powers.
  • Build AI to work properly with this game mode.
  • Edit the MCV model to be the Government building
  • Do something similar with other factions later on.

MBT808 please do provide any extra features you would like to see.
