1) Download virtual drive software, can use Daemon Tools Pro(lite doesnt work on win 10), WinCDEmu, or Alcohol

2) Download the BFMEII Iso

3) To install BFME II, mount the iso in your virtual drive, to SCSI, here is an example of what Daemon Pro looks like

4) If you dont have a keygen/Serial Key, go here. Disregard antivirus warnings, its safe.

5a) Note - there are 2 ways to get the game working without a CD, first is the game crack, which works only for 1.06 and 1.09, second is mini images. If you play 1.00 then its better to use images. If you play 1.06 or 1.09 the game crack works fine. Simply place this file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Battle for Middle-Earth II and your game will run without a cd. Disregard the next step(5b) if using this crack.

5b) In order for the game to run without a CD, you then need the mini images. You then mount the mini image in your virtual drive, as SCSI.

6) If you are on Windows 10, your game may then launch but not go past the load screen, that is when you need to copy this options.ini into the equivalent directory on your PC. If the folder doesnt exist, just create it.

7) You can either manually set your game resolution by opening options.ini with notepad, or just press 'Fix My Resolution' in the patch switcher(link for this is in next step). If you want to do it manually just go to this line and edit it to your preferred resolution. Then simply save it. You can change it in game but it only has a set amount of resolutions and doesn't support 1440p and 2160p, so if you are on high-res monitors this is the way to do it.

8) Install the Patch Switcher and visit the Patch Thread for reference

9) Install Gameranger and T3A. Both platforms are for online play, on T3A most people use Patch 1.09, Gameranger is mixed.

10) Enjoy the game and visit General Discussion for any questions or concerns. You can also join the Discord Group for chats and finding people to play, and the steam group.

Excellent guide Val. But shouldn't you pin this in tech support?

There were other guides but they didn't cover everything, just bits and pieces. Now it is all in one. I unpinned all the old stuff

Hey, when I mount mini image as virtual drive and run the game it won't start. There's an error on start-up that I need to insert correct CD and restart application. Any ideas how to fix it?

I'm using Virtual CloneDrive to mount image.

Hey Val, after 3mins or so I get a Auto Defeat when using the Keygen you supplied or any other key found online. I own a genuine copy and that works fine for one install. If we use that key on both PCs we get a Serial Key In Use message. I want to plan a LAN game with my son. Do you have any suggestions to overcome this, aside from buying another copy?
