Wow, very nice guys! smile.gif It seems like a very creative and well-rounded work.

Was just reading the change-log and noticed this:

The only fact i wanna complain about is spider rider bow dmg.....what the fuk guys?One attack troll dies to 2 sr hordes in 3 shots wtf is this? 1000+lvl3 troll cage<1200 ?

Disclaimer: this is a code based analysis, I didn't try it out in game.

Rider bow damage:
#define WILD_SPIDERRIDER_BOW_DAMAGE 50
Horde size = 6
So: 300 pierce dmg per volley.

Attack troll:
Health: 3000
Armor = PIERCE 25%

So 25% × 300 = 75 damage per volley is subtracted from the health.

3000÷75 = 40 volleys are needed to kill an attack troll.

If spider riders are lvl5 and AT is lvl1 then it's 28 volleys.


With fire arrows:
They get an additional 7.5 "flame" dmg
Attack troll:
Armor = FLAME 50%

So 0.5 × 7.5 = 3.75 per volley added.

Total: 38 volleys needed


The fire arrow dmg seems too low so I'm gonna check it out in game for ya

This sounds very unrealistic. Perhaps if the SRs had a buff + leadership, and were in Aggressive Stance in Skirmish AI gameplay, maybe. Even then, it still sounds unrealistic.

Note: the AI gain a damage bonus in Skirmish gameplay.

@Brabox, I'm not around my PC to confirm this, but Spider Riders' probably deal CAVALRY_RANGED damage, not PIERCE. It's entirely possible that ATs have poor CAVALRY_RANGED armour.

Yes there is a 25% damage scalar to all except structures (if I understand the following code correctly):

Anyway, I tried it out and Renegade's claim is hugely exaggerated. Even with fire arrows, lvl1 spider riders take ages to take out an AT. You'd need like 6 batts to do it reasonably quickly.

Dont know if that guy Doctor uploaded any replay but i can say for sure that my attack troll died to 3-4 sr hordes in no more than 4-5 shots ( dont know their lvl,buffs,leadership,stances etc...)

Well, 4 or 5 sounds realistic. You can't expect an Attack Troll to be invincible.
