Improve ZH's Graphics in less than 1 minute!

If you got a Nvidia GPU, then good news for you!

ZH's graphics, or other (old) games can be very easily improved by tweaking just a couple of settings in the Nvidia Control Panel and it takes less than a a minute! Below is a screenshot of before and after, but ingame it's even more noticeable!

Attached Image
These are the default graphics, quite some pixelated lines/edges and some pretty blurry textures, just check the ground/earth sad.gif

This is tweaked, notice the clean sharp lines on the CC and the tower garrisons, also the China logo, the earth and details on the ground are alot more crisp smile.gif If you don't see any improvement, you need some glasses laugh.gif
  1. To open the Nvidia Panel, right click desktop and it should be listed, otherwise use the searchbar. If you don't have the app at all, download it from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Next, go to Manage 3D settings then find generals.exe (add manually if not in the list).
  3. So these are the settings to be tweaked (see pictures below):
    1. Anisotropic Filtering to 16x.
    2. Antialiasing - Mode to Override.
    3. Antialiasing - Setting to 4x for good quality, higher if your system can handle it.
    4. Antialiasing - Transparancy ditto.
    5. DON'T FORGET to disable Heat Effects ingame! Nvidia's settings will break these effects and Microwave tanks and other effects can cause black screens. Much worth this tiny sacrifice!

That's it smile.gif

Looking good. Also works with AMD btw. Just crank anisotropic filtering and anti aliasing a bit.

Am I the only person who puts medium or low graphics in the opinion it could reduce lag? It probably doesnt even

It's worth it just to see things differently.

Lowering the graphics does a lot less than lowering the resolution.

there's quite a difference haha, you can't see it on the screenshots if you dont check them on 1:1 scale, also ingame when it's moving it's way more obvious, just try it. its a 50-100% improvement over the highest custom settings ingame I'd say.

Only do it if you got a decent gpu though, else it might introduce lag indeed and personally, I hate any kind of delay/input lag, I notice it immediately.
