It's likely if one is unable to make time to play a few Ladder matches, that he/she will be unable to make time for the main event.
i dont think it is interesting for most good players to play some random games in ladder where 95% of time u cant find a decent opponent, but not that hard to come here and arrange and play their games
everyone should have to qualify, in what gaming or sporting event are players just seeded in without qualification? None, bar event winners and thats the only exception. If Scuba cant qualify then I guess he wont be in it

This. Everyone has to qualify via ladder, even scuba. I have thought about some wildcards for expert players but the feedback was not too positive.

Good players could just play each other and qualify like that (what all active and good players do all the time anyway). You don't have to play random ladder games.
