Battle for Middle Earth

I have a problem using GameRanger to start BFME/BFME2/ROTWK...when I try to use GameRanger to play these games online I can join rooms and connect to users without problems but when a host starts a game GameRanger just can't start BFME/BFME2/ROTWK...simply just nothing happens even though GameRanger says it started the game but clearly it didn't...I use GameRanger to play other games and it works perfectly...I have this problem only with BFME/BFME2/ROTWK....please help

No, there is no message, only a popup window from GameRanger saying the game is started, even though it's not

but is the game closed before you start a game with gameranger? Or is BFME/Rotwk running already?

Yes, it is. I know that I should have the game closed when trying to start it through GameRanger

mhm okay. Does Gameranger also has the authorization to start it? Maybe a firewall or router blocks it... but I don't think so actually.

Well I'm not sure, it should have authorization, I didn't mess with that stuff at all. Is there any way I could check whether this is what causes the problem?
P.S. Like I said I can connect to other players within GameRanger and play other games, this problem only occurs with BFME/BFME2/ROTWK, all 3 games

Have you recently done the windows 10 update? If so that reset the windows defender firewall.

I haven't updated Windows 10 recently but Windows Defender shouldn't cause a problem because I don't use it...I use ZoneAlarm Antivirus+Firewall and I enabled/allowed internet access to all of the games

Have you tried using a VPN?

I am able to play with my friends using Hamachi if that's what you mean...now if I understand correctly, GameRanger uses the same principle as Hamachi because it also creates a virtual LAN to play multiplayer games...which confuses me even more whilst understanding the GameRanger problem

P.S. tried reinstalling the games, didn't help at all
