Greetings,

I did not enjoy Red Alert very much so instead I decided to make this SP mission map. I spent 3 months of hard work producing this map for no real good reason other than I wanted some more C&C 3. :)

This map is broken into ACTs
Act 1 Swarm - You start out with a small fixed base, units and some money and you have to establish a foothold hostile territory.

Act 2 Four Corners - Now that you have a base and def and units its time to take out the Queens that are producing the Swarm of alien insects attacking you. You will be busy all over the map trying to collect money, salvage units, as well as holding on to the foothold you fought tooth and nail to create!

Act 3 Fur and Feather - Guard a convoy as they make their way through your territory

Act 4 Hold The Line - Time to take the fight to the enemy! You have to push the enemy back to choke points so that you can expand your base and make save airways for your reinforcements to join you.

Act 5 Scorched Earth - Time to Scorch EARTH!

Each has its own objectives and could be its own map but I wanted to add them together into one map for cohesion of the story. I worked out the story line before the dev, came up with some cut scenes and started to work on the missions.

This map makes good use of each units special abilities, stances, and Level ups. There are many small sorties in each mission with a Macro Objective to winning the Map.

There is a new form of resource gathering, a new type of enemy than the norm, and a new way of base building. I also script the upgrade and units you can get based on need.

This map is very difficulty as the game has been out for a while. I do not expect a ton of NOOBS just buying the game to jump on this, lol but they could it would just take longer to learn it. It requires some knowledge of the units and their abilities. You are rewarded for making the correct units for the job. Stances and leveling up are HUGE in this map. This map requires some strategic thinking and a lot fo blood shed!

I hope you enjoy, below are some pictures of IN GAME.

The Map's name is "Shaka Zulu" based on the movie I got the Mission map's idea from, "Zulu".

Update: Newer versions have been created since. The latest version can be downloaded from our site.

Changes:
  • It is no longer possible to build a MARV, which was never intended to be an option.
  • Language fixes in the message texts.

I played it three times now and holy shit its hard wacko.gif I got to the stage where you have to kill the tripod queens and ist impossible to get past those damn PACs with only 2 zone raiders sad.gif No money and a heroic STANK in the way really makes it hard for my harvester to get anywhere

Challenging, yet confusing tho

2 Zone raiders and a few Zone troopers make a nice raiding party. But just that "raiding" not full fledged attack force. The early part of this mission requires a scalpel not a sword. Each Queen is responsible for the horde being sent to you. "Raid" their base and widdle down her guards until you can take them out one by one.

Also, while they are not raiding those Zone troopers can guard chokes to help your Harversters get more Tiberium for the cause. This will level them up as they take out the small raids that come toward them from the north.

Once you have a decent force prepare your base by guarding one side with a skeleton crew and then take the army youdo have to one side for conquest. Once that has been achieved you can then worry about the other side.

I can answer direct questions if you give me direct answers on "secrets" to the map. There is some extra funds laying around here and there you just have to pay attention to the story as well use some common logic in implementing your military sorties.

I have re-thought my earlier suggestion, I'm moving it back to general discussions, where I'll leave it for a few days, before moving it back again (now it's confusing, huh? tongue.gif)

Being a senior strategy specialist I cant wait for you to play it either.... you will need all your knowledge, and several restarts, to beat it but there is a nice cinematic waiting for you in the end. Ironically it was made by you as well.... confused well you will see.... smile.gif

If you are getting HEXpods than that means your letting the Scim get all the Tiberium. They come out when the scrim have 10K Tiberium (monitor the Aliens Tiberium count on bottom left).

There is a verbal warning and Radar Blimp every time the Tiberium is beamed down to the surface. You need to HONE in to that ASAP! Get a couple APC or Zone Troopers to that Location to kill any Scrim Harvesters. You can also utilize the choke points to monitor Scrim comings and goings. A sniper set to not fire, or a Zone trooper in a not so active locations can so wonders!

The HEX Pods are sort of a game ender, you can survive it if you have a large force but they are the ultimate punishment for allowing the Scrim to acquire so much Tiberium!

To help you out, The destroyed Tib Spikes from the previous ACT have Tiberium were they use to be, as noted in one of the cut scenes. Every cut scene shows valuable intel that you need to market off of. Those locations and the Audio/Radar Blimp marked locations are were all the Tiberium is.

Later in ACT II the Tiberium starts to beam down in hostile locations, keep a close eye on those pesky Harvester drivers they are not too bright!

yeah that was pretty awesome. i'm still confused though tongue.gif

btw it was nice when you gave us warning before the briefings between acts.. i had a retarded moment where i had to keep loading because i had saved the game when i heard transmission incoming, but then there was no countdown, and I couldnt pull my orcas back (i had 8 of them!) before the briefing began, and they were invariably all dead by the time the briefing was over.

Beyond the part where the Juggernaut appears, all I get are "MISSING_CINEMATIC<number>". Did I do something wrong? I extracted all files to my Maps folder in the Kane's Wrath directory...

I'm having heaps of fun with it though.

Explain why you are confused? Did you make it to the Victory Screen?

And YES there are a couple abrupt moves to Cut Scene. I thought about this in dev and just chalked it up to, "That's WAR" not everything is neat and organized, but maybe I could give a countdown never the less so you know to get your commands queued up because your superiors are going to demand some face to face with you.

tis ok i understand all now ;p

overall it was a really enjoyable mission. As mentioned before, the inability to prepare your units to survive by themselves before briefings was a PITA, but besides that it was pretty good. It was a real choice on every single unit purchase because funds were low, and it was a similar choice on whether i could afford to tech up or not, or purchase specific upgrades. Wasn't your typical weather the storm til you finish stockpiling a massive upgraded army and steamroll the enemy, it was a real fight all the way to the finish. Seemed easy at times because you could really hold a choke with a MARV and zone APCs but the constant harassment of stormriders and units getting through and sudden PAC barrages threatening to take out the APCs forced you to stay on your toes.

Oh and, my rig couldnt unpack on this map for some reason. kind of sucked because a) i wanted one and b) it was wasted funds ;o

Anyway i hope you decide to make some more of these because it was kickass ;o
