Even if its rare to happen, when the time comes, the moments right, and the stars align, people will know which item to get instead of not having a clue.

Here it is again, I never said you should build SoTM OVER Totem, that's a ludicrous statement, ofc you should get totem the majority of the time if you're building a late-game item at all.

Teams often lack in something significant for pubs, and it is typically disable... and skill.

Ok... Well maybe you should read my posts instead of just assuming I said SoTM IS TEH BEST ITAM because the post contained SoTM..

And yes we're sometimes talking about pub games because the vast majority of people who read the guide will be looking for a way to play Thunderbringer in a pub game - if they're reading a basic guide like this to learn to play thunderbringer in scrims they should probably still be playing pub games..

we agreed in the staff section to gear advice towards competitive play and not cater for pub stomps.

Then you should make some pub guides in addition as many players such as me are noobs to the Dota-type game and competitive guides dont really help that much.

Competitive guides will work in pubs too, generally.

I guess, but the problem is that there are some awesome strats which won't work against pros but rape against ordinary players.

In most cases the only reason why insane strats work against bad players is because the speed at which you are able to farm the items. Obviously if you can farm a 9 minute codex it is going to rape on thunderbringer. But spending the same amount on a pro build will make you just as strong. The only thing playing agianst weaker opponents does is open up some alternative builds; but it never means that the competitive build wont be just as or probably more effective.
BTW please dont say codex thunderbringer is retarded because i was just using it as an example and i would never actually get it, its just used to prove my point that it would work if you farmed it in 9 minutes.

This is quite sad, 1 year since Ive checked this site for the last time and this guide has seen no (really important) updates on the items sections.

Well it's not like we have anyone but Luk and Syl writing stuff

So why does the recent news post only talk about artists when you are apparently in the bad need of strategy specialists?

Imo, you need one competent person that completely focuses on keeping guides up to date, because there's nothing worse than reading of a ring of sorcery as recommended first item for a tb these days.

Because we never got one strategy specialist that way. Only good ones were those that wrote guides before we promoted them.


One person isn't enough to keep all 50 guides up to date, we need a lot more, but it seams people over here are not that much interested in writing guides
