General rules

There are only a few simple rules you should follow when posting replays in this forum.
  • Replays can be of demo format, made from the Theatre Mode or videos created in an editing program. All kinds of replays can be posted in this forum; to make it easier to sort through please label your new topic accordingly:
If your replay is a strategy guide, please put this tag at the start of the topic title: [S]
If your replay is a movie or 'machinima': [M]
If your replay is a frag video: [F]
More than one tag can be used if there are multiple replays in a topic. There won't be any penalties for forgetting to put the right tags but it would be appreciated if this rule be followed.
  • Remember to follow the site rules.
  • If you have a few replays you want to post at once, it would be better to put them all in one topic so as not to cover the forum with new topics pushing down other people's.
  • Upload any video files to a video streaming or file hosting site instead of uploading them on Gamereplays. Youtube is recommended. Take note that by adding commercial music, Youtube may mute your sound and/or block your video in certain regions of the world.
  • Remember to comment on other player's performance, give them hints and have fun!

How to make and share Black Ops replays

Viewing other people's demos
Download a .dm_7 file from someone's topic in the Replays forum.
Put it in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\demos.
Copy the file name or remember the file name.
Open the game and ensure the developer console is enabled in the Settings menu.

Open the console by pressing the tilde key (` or ~). A thin brown text input box will show on the top of the screen.
In the console, type /demo then the file name. An example would be /demo myrecording
The demo should play. To exit, press the escape key.

Sharing your own demos
Ensure the developer console is enabled in the Settings menu.

Go into a match.
Open the console by pressing the tilde key (` or ~). A thin brown text input box will show on the top of the screen.
In the console, type /record then the file name. An example would be /record myskills
The console can be closed by pressing the tilde key a second time.
Once you want to stop recording, open the console and type type /stoprecord
You can exit the match and close the game or continue playing.

Demos are saved in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty black ops\demos
To share on Gamereplays, create a new topic in the Replays forum. When creating the topic, browse for your demo and click the add attachment button. Add a little description and post it!

Theatre mode
Theatre mode can be used to record up to 30 seconds of video and take screenshots. If you have uploaded a video to Youtube and would like to create a topic to share it, please do so. You can use the tags
CODE
[youtube]EK2tWVj6lXw[/youtube]
to embed the video in your post. The string of characters between the tags are found after the equals sign (=) in the video page URL.
If you want to submit a screenshot, please visit here!

User-made videos
