My suggestion: Lower the amount of points to 2500, because that has always been the default point value for CNC4. You will really use T3 units if the match is quite close.

the downside of having 2500 points is that nod might not really stand a chance if the teams are equal in strength.
so far the general pattern in 2500 games was that when sides were swapped, nod always lost, so it was a matter of, who can get more points as nod and gdi, despite the fact that they would lose with nod anyway, rather than, will they win.

This was the biggest issue I hated about the ladder in the first place, because Nod never had a chance. Best changes to me have been the bigger VP amount on this new idea.

This "Nod never had a chance"-argument is highly unsubstantiated, but of course you guys yell harder and you are senior so that makes all my arguments mute.

not at all, however
if the teams are equal in strength, and the game is up to 2500, which team tends to win most of the time?

Looks good!

Only feedback points from me:
  1. Creates or crates??? tongue.gif
  2. The point on agreeing that its a clan game worries me a little. This agreement is a little nebulous as it would happen in game and would be no record of it (maybe a screen shot of captain accepting in game text?). Once the games are played you can just upload them so I guess that is agreeing that its a clan game, but what if team A smashes team B in the first game, and then team B just leaves without playing the second game? As you have only one half of the match it doesn't count. A team's reputation over time would reflect this bad behaviour (and maybe warrant removal from the league), but it would all be heresay with little solid evidence.

Any way of addressing the second problem? I cant think of any that dont involve some form of subjective call from a referee.

On point 2, the same could happen with the current ladder I suppose. I think we can only do so much. If the clans or teams agree to play then they decide not to play the second game then the team that refuses to play forfeit and get a default loss. This could happen if the losing team lose badly and think they would never recover enough points to win. Of course if there is a dispute they can post it and we decide the action then

I just used the word clan, but it could just be a team, i suppose they are the same thing.

The difference with the original ladder was that the penalty for not playing a full match meant both teams went to the bottom. This was not without it's problems but it meant it was better to play and lose than just bug out half way through if it looked like you were going to be beaten.

As there are no formal challenges here, who does a ref believe if two teams claim different stories. In my scenario above if team B claims it was never a clan match so they had no reason to play game 2 and team A says it was a clan match who does the ref believe? The only thing that comes to mind is reputation will go down for any team that does this which may influence which clans play against them.

very well done womant. (btw. with my bad english i understand only 50 %) ,-)

What you think about 3500 Points ?

Reasons:

- People realy LOVE long Tec3 battles - i think with 2500 Points the most 5v5 games are over far to early (nothing personal Complex-Buddy)
- maybe the NOD-Lovers will be happy ;-) Nod can longer use his "lategame" advantage.
- in the 3v3 ladder we had 2500 Points. in 4v4 maybe it would be 3000 and in 5v5 we could make then 3500 Points (more players means more Kill(-ingpoints)
- i like 35 hundred - because i am 35 years old lol

As long as i know these Clans show interest:

NTS
of course FIMZZ (we have to mention Zebra also.... not only Zodiac) ,-)
(acme)
)CNS( - aka Commandos

i realy hope somehow VKP will join

i think we should ask other Clans directly in game
(for example Squad-C, SXX, Legion, the KILLAS and some others, i hope some "no-clan-members" will team up) and not wait if they read weeks later the Thread.....

Cheers
Michael

Thank you for your comments Michael. We decided on the 3000 simply so give both teams the advantage of T3. 3500 we thought was too long as this would be a 7000pts game and 2500 really didnt favour nod that much. So we think 3000 is just right, but of course this can be altered in the rules if the community think that 3000 is too short.

There will be a pinned topic going up soon on GR about this and hopefully something on the CNC4 launcher to help promote this.

The point on smurfs is really for two things:
1. To make sure that one player is not playing in two or more teams.
2. The player is not a banned player from tournaments on GR.

yes i agree on that but i am talkin about a clan player playing with some other name(which is not known to the opponents)...so 1 should play with is tag name or his/her original name when he/she is playing a clan vs clan match....or if some1 is playing as a smurf then the team should clarify the players original name to the opponents..

I agree numbers, the only concern is the smurf paranoia. This is that people think the person is a smurf but in fact that is their original account. But of course most ppl who play this game regularly will know who the smurf is. In fact GR as a topic on smurfs, guess who the smurf is.
