As many of you have enjoyed participating in GameReplays.org's ladder games this past year, we have made a few changes that you will hopefully like.

You have all had the chance to play skilled and, more importantly, fun games with and against your friends. The BfME staff at GameReplays.org has decided to make these ladders more attractive now, as it is obvious that the winning conditions of 2500 ELO points would take years of active playing to achieve. Therefore, we have designed a new system that should make it very interesting for all of you guys to play ladder again.

First and foremost, both ladders, 1vs1 and 2vs2, will be reset on January 15th, 2013. This will be the start of the new ladder season. Every season from now on will be four months, which will give every player enough time to play as many games as they want. This will also be enough time for any player to show their skill in battle and rise to the top of the leader-boards. After each season is over, the top three players of both ladders will receive a medal for their accomplishments. The ELO System will be used again for these ladder systems, however, the ELO points are no winning criterion anymore.

To make it even more interesting, the winning player of each ladder will have the chance to name any replay of the past ladder competition to be video-casted by the Game Commentators and will be published on BFMETV. We will try to release at least one video-cast a month, which will solely focus on ladder games and the level of playing. This will give anyone who is always hesitating to join the competitive games a good portrait of the action going on in these ladder games.

I hope everyone likes these ideas as much as we do and you will support the idea with your best gaming efforts to keep the ladder alive and competitive.

Have fun playing and give it your best shot! You might be able to earn your first medal!

Nice idea, sounds great. I wouldn't give out too many medals though. 6 tournament medals every 4 months is a lot, Medals for the best 2 players seems like a better choice in my opinion. All in all, great move. smile.gif
