Why? Why not play on C&C:Online? I would rather not have the playing community fragmented. It's not good for anyone.

Because tcp6667 problem. 1 or 2 years ago I got some info about cnconline's changing tcp port. However we still suffer from this problem in the latest update of cnconline. We'd play with u on cnconline if we can...

Played there couple times. To be honest not much lag for 1v1 and 2v2, but 3v3 really doesnt work

You can use a VPN to get round port 6667 problems. Plenty of people do that. There are enough free services around.

Here's the tutorial.
Download VPN software, for example Betternet. Run it. Click "connect". Run game. Click on settings, options, network and choose the IP that starts with "10" in case it is not selected automatically. Click "done." You're done. You can play.
The same principle applies to any VPN. You run it before running the game. After running the game you select the fake IP. Then you can play. The only tricky part is that not every server is suitable to establish the in-game connections, so with some VPNs one needs to check out which server works and which not. For example, with Private Tunnel only Frankfurt, Germany server seems to work.

Try it without the condescension and perhaps make an itemized list or step by step list of itemized instructions.

I am fully aware how to use one but the point is some people do not have this knowledge and may need guidance setting this up.

A more detailed set of instructions with a dedicated thread would be ideal so people do not have to read through a bunch of useless replies.
