Introduction
For double US, Rails and Metal is not the best map in my opinion. The south has a small disadvantage over the north starting postion. Nonetheless, you can still execute this strategy with succes if you manage to survive until you have your Howitzers and Calliopes. Try to control the center and your own side, and harras their fuel if possible.
The general plan for Rails and Metal:
Note that the green line is drawn directly to the middle house near the railways. This house is one of the key points of the map, always try to keep control of it! The red front line isn't straight- taking and holding the north fuel is often impossible versus an equally skilled team, but it's always worth trying.
