2.602 Operation Torch - Release Date Announced

This is it. In a few days - days that are sure to feel quite long for many of us - the final Company of Heroes patch will be released. It's been nearly five years since Company of Heroes first came out, and a lot has changed since then. There is more than one 1v1 map, there are a couple of new factions, and you can no longer delete your base mg nests for the fuel.

The 2.602 patch adds some fresh maps to the rotation, improves many of the old standbys, and has a long, well-thought out and well-tested list of balance changes and bug fixes. Perhaps we will even see some meta-game shifts as more players forgo BARs for a fast Greyhound and PE players search for devious places to hide their Vampire HTs. The leader board rankings being reset to level 10 is also exciting; will unknowns step up and get on that first page or will the hardened veterans reclaim their positions?

We as players are fortunate that Relic has continued to support CoH for as long as they have, and Relic can be grateful that members of the player-base care enough to generously lend their energy to assisting in the improvement of what is arguably the best RTS of all time. Many people worked long and hard so that we can enjoy what is hopefully the most balanced and fun CoH yet. Anyone who participated in the Beta also deserves credit for making this patch possible.

Official Relic Statement


We have received the all clear from the Quality Assurance team to release the next patch for Company of Heroes, which will update the game version to 2.602. We will be releasing the patch on Tuesday, May 24, after a brief maintenance window. The maintenance window is scheduled to last from 09:00 10:00 PST, which is 12 noon 13:00 EST and 16:00 17:00 GMT, after which players will be prompted to update to the new patch when they log in to the game.

In addition, we will be performing a reset of our leaderboard that will affect all players that are rank 11 and higher. These players will have their ranks reset to 10. Players that are rank 10 or lower will not be affected by this reset. We will be performing the rank reset on Tuesday as part of the patch release.

Thank you for your patience and support in the creation of the patch, especially to those players that played in our beta. Your feedback has been invaluable.
