Cheating We take cheating VERY seriously, and any of the following may result in a permanent ban from GameReplays:
- Using a third party cheat or banned in-game exploit. - Posting links to cheats or explaining how to abuse exploits. - Accusing others of cheating without proof.
hmm so what about this game which was labelled as an "expert" replay. Given this is pretty much the only forum that cares about this game anymore, shouldnt it be acceptable to talk about these kind of issues so maybe they can be dealt to?.
I agree with you both. Gamereplays forums is the best place for these kinds of things.
Most people who are active here are very knowledgeable about the game and know the community. They know what really goes on and this leads to some interesting discussion.
Discussion is a form of solving problems. If these issues are brought forth and talked about we can move towards a solution or at least get a better understanding of things. Either way it is good for the community to allow it the freedom to grow and not try to prevent this by making things unnecessarily difficult.
We all know what's happening, it is obvious and yet we have to beat around the bush and use terms like "the all seeing eye" and what not. It is ridiculous if not stupid.
This community is in the shitter with all the cheating that is going on and yet we cannot call anyone out for it and expose them - how will we ever get out of this hole then?
I understand the need for rules - they exist to prevent utter chaos but you follow them blindly. You don't take them for what they really are. They are guidelines to make it easier for you to deal with a certain type of situation. IE if you have specific problem and you don't know how long to ban a certain player, then you look at your rulebook and ah! You know how to act. this is so that if this exact same situation occors a million times, then you do not issue out a million bans of varying length and be unfair. Foremost you must follow the purpose of why the rules were created - to prevent chaos (not even to maintain order but just to prevent this bad thing from reigning and that is all anyone really needs. Like constant shittalking is okay as long as no big lines are crossed, but noone wants to see half the page to be full of replays from eight year olds spamming only every cuss word and racial slur they know).
I also agree that this is past accusing at this point. I'm pretty sure I also played vs the brit the last time I was online. He's arty placement was questionable and at one time when a big bunch of my units were repping mortar in a place where you just never shoot arty, the one time there were even any units there, he did it and with great accuracy (I followed the gun firing line and it was pretty much right at the X). There was absolutely zero reason to shoot there.
