12azor Vs. MooSnuff Armour Vs. Blitz Beaux Lowlands
Game Overview
This match started out for 12azor in a very, very bad way. He got caught completely off guard in the beginning of the game by a double MG start by MooSnuff, which resulted in him getting pushed back almost completely into his base. A quick Motor Pool however let him break out a little bit and give himself some breathing room. From there it's a desperate battle against a Tier 3 strategy utilizing Blitzkrieg, and in no way is he short on stormtroopers. A very good game to watch if you enjoy a lot of tense fights and interesting strategies on the Axis side, and an amazing come back to boot. So all in all, a very good game for a generally hated and campy map. Congrats to the winner and good luck in the Semi-finals!
12azor
This game started out in the worst possible way for you. I couldn't believe how MooSnuff managed to predict your movements with the MGs and keep the rifleman off of them. However you did make it priority one to get to motor pool and attempt to break out, which at least gave you some breathing room. From there it was really just a little micro and smart tactical play, along with a little luck of course, to bring you back into the game. Things weren't all well and good in 12azor-land though, as MooSnuff began to roll his elite tigers on to the field to try and fight his way back. Luckily though, you did hold him off with distractions such as a crippling base rush and an ambush on a lone tiger that spelled it's end.
Good recovery from the early game beatings, it was good to see you not throw everything at that one spot and instead try other locations.
Might have been able to keep your Motor Pool units moving a little bit, might have saved a few of them. I don't think it would have helped much against the horde of stormtroopers in MooSnuffs possession.
Smart distraction work with the base rush, keeping his mind off the VPs and on his base let you really consolidate the rest of the map. I particularly enjoyed the rifleman literally lined up a long the edge of the map to avoid the tiger.
MooSnuff
For the longest time it looked like you had this one in the bag, and I spent a better part of watching this game wondering how victory slipped away. Nice anticipation with the double MG start at the beginning, no doubt waiting for the famous flank and trying to stop it cold. You quickly moved on to tier 3 and selected blitzkrieg, and by the looks of it you had more than enough stormtroopers to compete with anything 12azor could throw against you. However, it is impossible to hold the entirety of beaux lowlands simply due to it's size and he found the hole in your defense. I think what did you in was the way 12azor seemed to play with your focus, changing it from your base, to VPs, and back again playing you into his hands. You had the units, but it felt like he was playing you the later half of the game. The lost tiger and stormtroopers definitely contributed to this as well.
Nice work in the early game blocking 12azor off in the north. It's a talent to be able to put yourself in your opponents shoes like that and make predictions.
You could have retreated your stormtroopers a lot earlier to prevent losses at many points in the game. Throwing away squads and manpower is never good to do.
Leaving a tiger alone, no matter how powerful and secure you may be on the map is a mistake and allowed 12azor to come back and destroy it before you could react.
