In many ways yes. But very fast panther has caught me by surprise before and wiped my tanks. Hard to recover when lose first ff + command and have no other AT. Probably better is to transition into panther from ACs. Depends what USA does too. FF spam limited by fuel, not mp, so map control is important.

I tried your strat the other day. Man o' man I felt so weak during the early game.

In that situation I would probably have a CCS up and I'd camp my hq. If I am delayed a lot I might throw down a 17lb to give me some AT vs fast stuh or p4.
