Replays: 0 Game:
Alright Rogar. Im such a nice guy Ill spend some time on this one.

IPB Image SgtHorvath vs Sirshayne IPB Image

Map: Semois
IPB Image
Version: 1.2

----------------------------------------

SgtHorvath IPB Image

Building Build Order: wsc, bar, supply yard, motor pool, tank depot
Build Order/Strat:Mgs overlooking +16 points, plenty of jeeps and a few rifles using raid, a few fast acs.
Doctrine:Armor

Pros and Cons:

thumb.gif Capped points for better economy
thumb.gif Good mine usage, took out a HT and an AT gun with one mine!
thumb.gif Fair map control throughout the game.

sad.gif Micro/usage needs work:
sad.gif sniper far to close to the enemy, which got him killed
sad.gif Retreating armor/infantry was sluggish, casuing a lot of casualties
sad.gif advancing and retreating with one piece of armor when you had two
sad.gif running your ACs into the enemy base with known AT guns

sad.gif The only piece of armor you repaired was a single calliope
sad.gif You threw a ton of armor and ACs at the enemy base, when you knew there was enough AT to take them all out

Comments:
SgtHorvath, your strat could be tweaked a bit, and your micro definetely needs work. You built a tank depot, but only built one sherman, and led him more than half dead to enemy AT guns. Repair your armor!
After each fight you should regroup and repair all of your armor. Your ACs should stay defensive, run forward, lay mines, run away. Dont attack the enemy base with ACs that far into the game. Dont be afraid to retreat your infantry, the enemy will be there when you get back. Dont attack the enemy base until you have better map control. You let the axis have an operational Forward HQ for the whole game.
Calliopes fire in a crecent pattern, around the part of the circle farthest from your calliope. So in order to put the most rockets on the center of the target, put the outside line of the cirlce cutting the center of the target group in half. Most of the rockets will fall on target, and then 4-6 will fall short on the other side of the circle.
Shermans are a much better choice than calliopes. Cap a +5 and your +10, and build AT guns inbetween shermans. That will also supply enough oil to upgrade their main cannon, doing a lot more damage per hit. When your going up against stugs with 2 tanks, have one stationary and have whichever tank the stug is focused on kite it. In other words, run back and forth, or do circles on it while the second tank gets the rear hits. If you work on your micro, and preserve your armor at all costs, you will do much better.

Building Build Order: whermacht, kreig, sturm
Build Order/Strat:early sniper and a lot of bikes. A few volks and MGs with teir 2 units sprinkled in. Stug spam until the end of the game.
Doctrine:Blitz

Pros and Cons:

thumb.gif Good AT gun usage.

sad.gif Too many bikes
sad.gif Very odd micro/usage:
sad.gif Mgs were used like volks, capping points and staying in the open, while volks sat in buildings doing nothing
sad.gif volks and mortars vs tanks
sad.gif built an officer, and had him cap points, but not vps
sad.gif didnt cloak your snipers
sad.gif retreating was rare
sad.gif Stuh42 is NOT an anti tank tank, you called one in and sent it after a pershing

sad.gif You built odd units near the end, instead of AT units you built a sniper, officer, and a stuh42
sad.gif You were very defensive, taking a very small strip of land and just bunkering down.

Comments:
Sirshayne, you were all over the place this game. I had a very hard time with your pro section; I think your biggest problem is your unit usage. You need to learn exactly what each unit does best and why so you can preform better on the field. You built a lot of units that were completely unnesisary for the opposition you were faced with. Early game you should go with more solid units. MGs and volks are great, you spammed bikes and let used them vs units that could easily destroy them. Keep in mind the VPs are the objective, not your kill count. Check out these topics to help with the units:

Axis Units and Usage: The How-To Guide to Success is the one I would suggest if you dont read any of the others.

Match Comments:
There was a lot of action in this match, but it was two fairly new players, and the battles were pretty rough and uncoordinated. This can be a good replay to watch to learn which units dont work well in certain situations, before you go and try it yourself. Not super entertaining, but thats not why it was posted smile.gif.
