I've never had a problem trapping bikes, it's always the late game tigers that get me post-13661-1143531603.gif

It does put a damper on their strategy though biggrin.gif

why didn't you use the supply drop Archy? It just sat there on your command bar completely unused sad.gif Plus you floated 3 CPs when you could have gotten it and dropped it. Would have given you a huge munitions bonus over your enemy.

Overview
This was a match where the power of shermans + airbourne late game really showed. Two very high ranked players clashed and until mid / late game the match still lay in the balance but a few key battles were won by the allies and this showed in the result. The early game was a game of little resources. Much of the first 10 minutes was spent with both sides cut off, and this seemed to send the game the way of the axis, but when Challengerli decided to upgrade the gun on his first puma, the advantage was lost, as this made it much less of a force against the rifle spam of Archy. Mid game, airbourne AT guns allowed Archy to get a good hold of the map while Challengerli tried to save resources and units to make a charge with his tigers. The late game was dominated by the allies as BAR equiped riflemen handled the stormtroopers and Shermans and AT guns took care of the Tigers as the game petered out to an Allied win.

Archy-
You did a great job on the right early game with your rifleman and one engineer squad and quietly sent your other engineer squad to cap the left. Things boded well for you when you killed your opponents bike after he went Volks ==> Bike. You then OP'd the high fuel on the left hand side high fuel and the game looked like heading your way, but you let yourself be cut off quite early, and this combined with the manpower you put into a OP meant you slipped a bit. Mid game your micro was solid and you used airbourne to great effect, and as i mentioned earlier your late game was a bullying army of rifleman backed up by armour punishing AT guns and Shermans.
What this player/team can improve upon:
  • You bought grenades quite early when you lacked the munitions to utilise them properly. This could have cost you when an MG got garrisoned nicely, but you flanked well enough anyway and shot them out fairly easily.
  • You could have seen a mine being layed by Challengerli but tried to send 2 rifleman squads over (maybe you were looking somewhere else when you could have spotted it being layed) This forced you to retreat them and you lost some map control.
  • You could have kept a sherman alive and left an AT gun to kill the tiger. IF it didnt get crazy lucky with thr 5% bug it would have been fine.
  • Like Omar pointed out earlier in the thread, No supply drops? If you go airbourne you may as well utilise its "killer" ability.

Challengerli
The early game really cost you in this game. You failed to take and secure a high fuel point for far too long and losing your bike, a pioneer squad AND a volks squad in the first 6 minutes was a bad start. The mine i described earlier got you back into the match and some well placed MG's got you back in the game. Mid game you used a few tier 3 units but then gave up on them after seeing the AT guns scattered around and you seemed to rely on off map reinforcements from then on. Your resource management throughout the game was not as good as i have seen from you in the past, for instance a stuh was used to no great effect and you tried to use it to take on a sherman.
What this player/team can improve upon:
  • Poor retreating, or lack of, early game
  • Upgrade on first puma gave you very little anti infantry power
  • You could have used your Sniper to kill off the AT gun, saving your stuh
  • You entered a tiger into a hopeless fight just moments before your second would have entered the fray

Thanks for the review dontom! biggrin.gif
Yeh the supply drops. I allways underestimate them because what i really love is to have points for the bombing runs. Then once i have it, i forget about the rest because runs pwn so much. ^^

Agreed this wasnt Challengerli best day but i think this replay is quite nice tbh.
That´s why i posted it. biggrin.gif

btw 7 or higher = allways silver.

Since you´re relativly new as RR ill tell you what to do tongue.gif :
-under rating write: Silver Replay
-edit topic title exactly like every other Silver topic (you must take out the [R] etc).
-move the this topic to the Silver Forum.

Easy cake. happy.gif

whats interesting about this game is that there was so many weird moments

Also, many mistakes that i believe are the reason of both of you being somehow nervous because sometimes i just couldnt believe at what i am seeing

ok, volks going into house with 0.1% while rifles are sorounding them, engee with 0.1% marching on the front lines etc...

Still the Architect shows some pro-school lessons how to play airborne defensivly

Archy just say "ipwntbh" in the chat instead being worried about ranks rofl
