i'm doing same thing and improved my tactic with exactly not dumping money into motorpol as paracananons with shermans/crocodiles can counter preaty much everything.

cool thing is that you can completly forget about buildings in your base -
use airborns for harass, ATs from drops and most important MGs from supply drops. it's very cost effective becouse if you use engineers to wield MG, basicly you get one for 140. i found it quite vital to use those MGs to cover my ATs as they are extremly fragile when rushed by mp40 volks or something. the only problem is that you can't reinforce MG crew if you ordered your eng to take the weapon from supply drop.

the second problem is that airborns are very expensive to reinforce (i'm still learning not to lose them in big numbers). on the other hand they give you mobility and their recoiles rifles can own stations builded on the flags quite fast. not to mention how they owned stationated buildings in the early game smile.gif i also found them very lethal when stationated in the building during major battles when opponent uses many viecles - they are not focused on but they are doing their job perfectly with recoiles rifles smile.gif

Building Build Order: Weapon support centre - supply yard - motor pool - tank depot
Build Order/Strat:2Engies, 2MGs, one to north +16 ammo, one to middle church, sniper to middle, mortar to north enemy fuel. AT gun spam from there on out.
Doctrine: Airborne

Pros and Cons:

thumb.gif Harrassed the enemy fuel point like crazy
thumb.gif Used every unit at your disposal to cap points
thumb.gif OPd several points for better economy
thumb.gif Fast early map control.

sad.gif Unit usage/micro was way off compaired to your normal play:
sad.gif Three engy squads lost trying to kill a sniper on their own WTF.gif
sad.gif AT guns completely unsupported
sad.gif Kept paradropping AT while you had up to 4 AT guns engies could have picked up (and eventually did)
sad.gif Retreated horribly, 99% of your losses were completely avoidible, and the engies vs sniper was just sad.

sad.gif Completely shut down at the end of the game, idle units, and teching instead of sending people out to cap vps with 140 tickets left.

Comments:
Corpse, you are one of the best players in COH, and in the top 15 (obviously). I recently reviewed a game for fujix, and in said game he displayed his playing ability while under the effects of a hangover(I am not kidding.). Deja vu? Because your playing in this game was quite a bit off compared to normal. In any case, your strat needed very little extra to succeed vs this hoard armor spam themystic had going.
Your AT guns were completely unsupported! Several of them were taken by very light infantry (engies even). If you built half as many MGs as you built AT guns, and used their AP ability, there would have been no ACs left on the map, and just stugs, making your job a metric assload easier. You had the map early, but this armor hoard completely ran you over. You made several little mistakes to leave you with nothing but AT guns, the first being: sending out 6 paratroopers, between two squads, supported by engies and garrisoning them all instead of retreating them.
Basically lack of retreating, and poor mg use did you in.

Build Order/Strat:3engies, rushing to grab everything possible and cap 2 oil points, a few mgs backed by a well played sniper, followed by an amazing hoard of ACs and stugs.
Doctrine: ? Not sure, didnt see any abilities used.

Pros and Cons:

thumb.gif OPd several points for better economy
thumb.gif Well played sniper, sniping the enemy sniper.
thumb.gif Capped two oil points in the first minutes of the game, allowing you to preform the strat you did.
thumb.gif Harrassed his oil point asap, keeping him from teching as fast.
thumb.gif Retreating/unit micro overall was good.
thumb.gif Took several enemy AT guns and used them for yourself

sad.gif Let a few squads die early on that could have easily gotten away.

Comments:
TheMystic, your play was great. At first you got pushed back, but then came the armor..... You made very few mistakes, and supported your armor well with volks and engies. I have never seen a hoard like the one you displayed in this game. At first it was 2:1 Acs to stugs, and then 1:1 near the end, with 8-10 pieces of armor at a time! It was impressive how fast you were able to produce this armor division. You retreated your armor very well. Hit and run, followed by a mass repair on all your armor before the next attack. Very well played.

Match Comments:This match was the most entertaining thing I have seen since FEAR ragdoll effects. Themystics strat is the absolute maximum of the axis teir 3 armor rush strat. Even if corpse was able to fend off the armor better than he did, I doubt he would have had anything close to an easy time doing it. I could not believe my eyes the amount of armor rolling around together, Themystic made sure if he attacked, he would attack with everything, leaving nothing but smoking corspes behind him.

Dare I say: ROTW!

Its too bad it missed the mark for silver by one number! Oh well.


Entertainment value: 7/10

Overall game rating: 6/10

And now for some substance, backing up the silver/rotw:
Corpse managed to take out 2 pieces of armor, before themystics final push.

To be silver must be 7.

Surely a very strong rotw contender.

Very well, no silver. Im not gonna change the rating for that. The entertainment is what blew me away, if corpse wasnt having a bad day maybe it would have made it to silver.
