While Gamespy decided to hate the entire community a couple of us holed up in a hamachi network and had a round of good 1v1/3v3 games. This is my 1v1 against Marteffyo. We played on Bloody Hell and I chose SM cause I wanted to try a build happy.gif

I'm posting the game since a lot of SMs seems to be having trouble countering orks and since Marteffyo is currently #1 with ork (I really need to play more auto innocent.gif ) it shows that a high-level ork isn't entirely hopeless to play against with SM.

I go with a serv/3scout FC opener. Followed by a tactical squad. Then I place an armory once my LPs are up and get some ASMs up. Then a gen and even if I kinda forgot it for a long time this game I'm supposed to get the PP straight away when gen goes up blush.gif The tac/FC squad is supposed to be PP+2flamers to support the ASMs and chase down units while running as well as killing BM.

This game has a whole lot of back and forth battle, starting with tier 1 skirmishes between scouts/sluggas and shoota/slugga/BM vs tacs/FC and ending up with gitz/nobs/bustahs/trukks vs ASMs/tacs/GKs/chappy+FC/preds.

Also check out Marteffyos nice use of trakks mid-game to disrupt my troops and making it hard as hell for me to retreat.

A very good game imo, feel free to review it if you want, just don't mention the floating which occured when I thought I would be going tier 3 but realized I didn't have the building requirements laugh.gif

On a smaller map with way less strat points on they can be a good investment, but you would only get them if you're massing eco early on... as late game anything could kill it anyway with some focus fire

Chaos/SM is the best LP3s in the game, I got them since I was floating a bit when I couldn't go tier 3 because of building requirement and since he was pushing my outer LP2 I decided to go LP3s with the resources I had since I predicted that the fight would move into my base after that, but since he decided to go into middle instead they just ended up as a boost to my econ. I knew I had a slight advantage at that point in the game so spending more on troops didn't feel that pressing, and I knew that pushing his base in tier 2 would be a bad idea as well. so why not prepare for some better tier 3 econ? happy.gif

Other then SM/chaos and maybe IG I wouldn't recommend getting LP3s since they're generally not worth the investment for the other races. SM/chaos and to a certain extent IG LP3s are however considerably endurable if you have some troops nearby for support and will make short work of any non-elite infantry, making them quite good at neutralizing the common tier 3 slugga spam from the ork.

This is one TRULY AMAZING game bowdown.gif. Full action pack right from the beginning. I really like the way u're using ur heroes and GK to their full potential, and keeping ur opponent at bay eventhough he had eco advantage throughout the game.

I find it a pity that the Machine Cult came a little too late to the game, some Land Speeders would certainly help u with those Nob hordes. But I guess u've explained the reason, why this happened tongue.gif

Very WP from both of u, I hope to see more of ur fine replays in this forum thumb.gif

marteffyo VS Santiago
Orks VS Space Marines

Map: Bloody Hell:

Summary:
Overall it was a good game by both players. In early game, marteffyo started with some shootas and Big Mek but Santiago countered it with Space Marines squads+Force Commander and later on he had Assault Space Marine squads which decmatted enemy shootas. In mid-game, ork player managed to get some wartrukks and wartrakks which didnt gave much problem to Santiago which already ahve ASM+SM+FC+GK countering his forces and with few land speeders. In late game things wont change much, just both got heavy armor like Killa Kan and Predator. Marteffyo kept attacking but Santiago managed to repelled most attacks from it and won.

Marteffyo/ Orks

HQ: 2x Sluggas+Gretchin.
Structures: Da Boyz Hut+Power Generator.

Tou started the game putting pressure to enemy. You expanded well and got some shootas followed by Big Mek. Later on you attacked enemy in his base but you got repelled but you didnt let enemy pressure you. In mid-game you got some vehicle like wartrukks and wartrakks and some Nobz squads but that didnt caused muched trouble to enemy which each time he defended, had something new. On late game things didnt change much and you kept pressure but couldnt reach to enemy base. You got a Killakan but enemy upgraded units beat it but you mantained pressure on enemy which was good. You teched too slow which was one of the reasons you lost the game and you couldnt reach enemy base.

Good:
+ Good expansion early game.
+ Didnt let enemy pressure you.
+ Constantly tried to pressure enemy.

Cons:
- Teched slow.

Santiago/ Space Marines

HQ: Servitor+3x Scout.
Structures: Chapel Barracks+LP`s

Your gameplay was good but you defended through almost all the game. In early game you got Space Marines squad and a Force Commander to face enemy shootas+Big Mek. Later on you got some Assault Marine squads which didnt let shootas do anything but run. In mid-game you got upgrades for your units and you kept defending from masterffyo attacks. Afterwards you got Land speeders and Grey Knights. You had an excellent mixture of units there. Bad things were your lack of power in early-midgame were you didnt had enough. In late game things were almost the same from masterffyo attacking you and you defending until on one of his attacks, you totally destroyed his army and you`ve won. Good game.

Good:
+ Great use of Assault Marine squads.
+ Good defending.
+ Good mix of units.

Cons:
- Lack of power.

Player Rating: 7/10

Overall Rating: 7/10
Entertaintment Rating: 6/10
