Hi! I rage quit dow3 and got back less than 10 hours later, yeah, i suck. But in this time i read a lot the forums, and really used my brain to figure some things out. IMO, my playstyle is textbook SM gameplay, its the way Relic described SM army working, early game defensive and grow over time. Choko Bitched a bit in the end of this game, as i do when he beats me, i think its the nature of the SM vs Eldar Matchup.
He said about OP SM, and i answered that i EVER had 2 tactical squads, and he said the OP are the drop pods and the banner.
And indeed, they are designed to be op, to give SM a fighting chance. Take a look on ALL SM unit rooster. What units didn't suck for price? Well, Deathstorms (that is designed around that idea of strong pushes gameplay), Tacticals that had their DPS a BIT overbuffed, imo and can get a bit of a push back being the tankish unit they are supposed to be and probably Land Speeders.
Other than that ALL SM units are worst than they ork and eldar counterparts. (yes, rangers are better than snipers).
Other than that the SM early Elites are the most meh in the game, they are ok, but none are close to stuff like the ork and eldar elites.
What SM have for themselves when you take the Tactical Spam out of the equation are their racial mechanics.
