now THIS is atrition war... almost a thousand dead orks and 3 space marine companies. I had lost to this ork artilhary spam at lategame more than once so this time i decided to shake the meta a bit and went to dual predator doctrines. Early game have some pauses (a lot) but late game is basicaly a 30 minutes endless braw. i HAD to post this one.

Why are you able to win playing like that? What is this game?

Another Replay of the Week, so it is looking that way. Congratulations! Do you know who the other guy is?

I have to agree with Trypsinogen here.

For the first 20 minutes or so, Hamgono had complete map control except for Bigamo's two natural points. If the three middle resource nodes along the center axis of the map were victory points the match would have ended extremely quickly. Of course, if they were then Bigamo wouldn't have played as he did, but at least it would stop him from sitting in his base and just turtling all of tier 1 and 2 away. If there were no escalation phase resource bonuses, he would have been resource starved.

When trying to attack Bigamo's natural resource points, the listening post contributes too much to the defense on its own. Being able to power up shield gens with a single worker is also ridiculous. If it were annihilation then Hamgono could have just walked in and secured an easy early victory. Though again if that's the way the game worked Bigamo wouldn't have played as he did.

There was a point where like 6 tankbustaz got off like 3 volleys each against a predator without destroying it, which is completely absurd. The game was largely won off the sheer strength of predators and the incredible weakness of tankbustaz. Hamgono made too many tankbustaz early in the game to try to secure shield generator kills, which was his error. But at the same time, seeing how useless tankbustaz are against vehicles (almost just better for their squigg vs infantry), I can sympathize that he needs to start making them so early because of how many he would need in order to prevent an early dreadnought if Bigamo chose to build one. Predators themselves are incredibly effective at killing even large numbers of tankbustaz.

Big trakkz continue to be very unimpressive with their low DPS, and I don't understand why they even need a fuse on their artillery attacks once they land, which just make them even worse. If Hamgono had a late game elite, he probably could probably have won the game using it, since Beauty would at least be able to kill predators reasonably. I think that many of his big trakkz should have been used in regular tank mode rather than artillery mode as it would have increased their effective DPS by not missing artillery shots, and they could have just backed off instead of dying in the immobile artillery mode. He gave away too many of them too freely.

But really, Trypsinogen said it best. This replay is most surprising just in that Bigamo can win a game playing that way. Maybe it's fine to play that way because it works (turtling for all of tier 1 and 2 and earning enough income from two resource nodes), but it's sad that it works.

Those trakks that are "unimpressive" killed me more than once.

But who would guess that double doctrined predators suported with 3-4-9 elites would beat trakk AoE spam with a doctrine and supported by 2-3-4 elites, right?

Yeah, noob Bigamo, next time Bigamo must see a 2-3-4 Elite Build and just try to Take full map control.
