Grey Goo Replay System Launched!

By ToxicShock - 21st October 2015 - 13:01 PM

Greetings! We are please to announce the long awaited launch of the Grey Goo Replay System. Now members can not only upload and download Grey Goo replays, but they can discuss them in a topic for each replay and search for them by map, match-up, event or player. While any visitor to the site will be able to access the Replay System to download Grey Goo replays, guests can upload too, although their replays will be accessible to others only via a link.

You can upload a replay that you've saved yourself, either as a player or an observer, or upload somebody else's replay that you've enjoyed. The only restriction is that any replay can be uploaded to the system only once.

How to Download a Grey Goo Replay

Downloading a replay from the Replay System is simple. All you have to do is to find the replay you want, open the replay topic and hit the "Download" button.

You will be prompted for a destination folder. To watch the replay, it needs to be saved into the game's replay folder and replayed with the game. Grey Goo's replay folder can be found in your document folder; {My Documents}/Petroglyph/Goo/Replays. To play the replay, go to Multiplayer then hit the Replays Tab. From there, hit the "Manage Replays" button, select the replay and hit "Load Replay".

How to Upload a Grey Goo Replay

If you want your replay to be visible without a link, you'll need to be logged in as a member (joining the site is free). Go to the Grey Goo Replay tab and hit the "Upload" tab.

Give your replay a title and a description (you need to add both) and then use the "Browse" button to find the replay on your computer. Usually a replay from a game you have played yourself will be in your document folder under {My Documents}/Petroglyph/Goo/Replays.

Hit upload and you're away. You can learn more about uploading a replay as a guest in this article; New Replay System Features!

Replays are an excellent learning tool for anyone, from a starter to an expert player. There's plenty to be learnt from other people's replays and there is plenty more to be learnt from one's own replays, particularly if things went wrong. Discussing replays is a lot of fun too. We hope you enjoy the Grey Goo Replay System.
