The Global Defense Initiative, or GDI, has long been the representative force of world order, defending the planet against both the ravages of Tiberium and the incursions of Nod. The Third Tiberium War brought with it a new foe, the alien Scrin invaders, stretching GDI's capabilities. In response, GDI has developed new weapons and tactics in order to endure as the protector of the world's population.
In comparison with the GDI arsenal from
Tiberium Wars, players will note these key differences:
- New units: The Shatterer hovertank, Slingshot hovercraft, MARV, and Hammerhead are all now part of the GDI arsenal.
- New upgrades: Unleash the power of AP Ammo, EMP Grenades, Hardpoints, and Tungsten Shells on your opponents.
- New buildings: The Reclamator Hub allows construction of the massive MARV, while the Combat Support Airfield provides a secondary landing point for Orcas and Firehawks.
- New support powers: Pummel enemies with the Orbital Strike or tear their air forces apart with the Supersonic Air Attack while protecting your buildings with the Sonic Repulsion Field.
Be aware that other changes including prices, unit statistics, and upgrade prerequisites have been changed from Tiberium Wars. Check out our listing below for the full details.
