Rules and Formalities

Event Format

The tournament will be played as an FFA (Free For All) event and will consist of two stages: group stage and grand finals. Both the group stage and grand finals will consist of 3 matches which the respective participants will be playing in a 1v1v1v1 or 1v1v1 format (depending on the number of participants). All three matches must be played before the winner of each group or grand finals has been decided.

In the group stage, each group consists of 4 participants (some or all groups can consist of 3 participants in case of an uneven participant number). The top participant or top two participants (depending on participant number) from each group will proceed to the grand finals. Only 4 participants can proceed to the grand finals.

Top participants in each group are the ones with the highest number of points in the respective group.

The winner of the tournament is the grand final participant with the highest number of points.

In case of a tie (in group stage or grand finals), the winner will be decided in a 1v1 best of 3 series between the two participants. Map pool and other rules will be decided by the referee.

Points

The score system will be following: winner of each match (in both group stage and grand finals) gets 3 Points, second place gets 2 points, third place gets 1 point and fourth place, if there is 4 players, gets no points.

Remember, all three matches must be played before the group stage or grand finals is finished and Points are awarded for each match.

Awards

This event will be treated as an event sponsored by GameReplays for the purposes of Awards. The two medals we will be handing out are the Tournament Winners Medal and the Tournament Participation Medal. To gain the Tournament Winners Medal, you just have to win a tournament. To gain a Participation Medal, you must participate in all rounds of the tournament until you are eliminated

Signing-up

You must be signed up by the time that sign-ups close (1 hour before the event is due to start).

Please note commanders, letting someone else play in your name in an event is treated as cheating by GameReplays and will be punished accordingly. The fixed penalty for a first offence cheat conviction prescribed by the site rules is a 28 day suspension from GameReplays. The penalty for a second offence is a permanent ban. Take good notice that sharing account details with a banned member or player is likely to result in an indefinite suspension or permanent ban from C&C:Online. Don't do it!

Gameplay

For this tournament any faction is allowed including random.

If referees or commentators want to observe your game, you must open a slot for them. Not letting commentators or referees in may result in you getting disqualified from the tournament.

Maps for each round

The group stage will be held on following three maps (each map can only be played once):
  • Crater of Carnage
  • Backwater Brawl
  • The Battle for Middle Egypt.
In case of a group with 3 participants all matches will be played on Triple Threat.

The grand finals will be held on following three maps (each map can only be played once):
  • Redzone Rampage
  • Downtown Dustbowl
  • Wrecktropolis.
The map selection is fixed and not negotiable, but subject to possible changes by the tournament organizers. The tournament will be played on 1.02 maps.

Playing on maps that are not in the map pool is prohibited. Players who play for the first time on a map that is not part of the map pool will receive a warning. In case of a recurring violation of the aforementioned rule, the tournament staff will decide what to do at their discretion. If your opponent insists on playing a map that is not in the map pool, please let the tournament staff know.

Seeding

Seeding will be randomly seeded before the tournament starts.

Result Reporting and Replays

After the winner of each round has been determined, it is the responsibility of the winning player to report the victory to a referee and to post the result and the replay(s) in the specified results thread. Players may not proceed to play their next round unless and until the replays (both defeats and victories) from the previous rounds have been uploaded to gamereplays.org as directed by the tournament rules or staff.

Conduct at the Event

Players are expected to assist in the conduct of the event. Accordingly, conduct which tends to disrupt the event, including a failure to follow the instructions of the tournament manager or staff, interrupting or intervening in announcements made by the tournament staff or discourteous or disruptive conduct generally may result in forfeiture, sanction or disqualification from the tournament or future tournaments. Players or individuals that disrupt or attempt to disrupt the event may be kicked off line and banned from return during the course of the event or future events. The decision of the tournament manager on all matters concerning the conduct and outcome of the tournament is final and not open to debate. Questioning any such decision is likely to be treated as disruptive conduct.

Delaying one's own defeat in a game where defeat is inevitable and there is no tactical advantage to the delay may be considered bad sportsmanship and treated as such.

The following rulings have been added to tournaments. All bugs and exploits listed below are banned in events and will be punished:
  • The two banned KW exploits are forbidden in tournaments and if used will result in a ban from future events (Fair Play Punishments will apply as well)
  • Teleporting EMP'd Hexa (or any units in general) Player forfeits unit to their opponent unless the opponent allows them to keep it. Unit must be sent on hold fire stance.
  • Beam-Venom unlimited range Player will have 3 seconds to stop the bug. If the player does not stop the bug they will receive a warning. If used again they forfeit the game.
  • Teleporting units without a wormhole, prodigy/mastermind (Note: Shock Troopers &Firehawks are excluded from this) Player forfeits the game, if used again player is disqualified.

  • Disconects/desynch (Excluding Quad Turrets) Players decide if they want to give a win or remake the game. If they remake the game the same factions/map must be used. If players can not agree then the replay is to be sent to the referee who will decide the outcome. With disconnects if a player disconnects multiple times in a tournament they may be DQ'd.
  • Desynch (cause by Quad Turrets) [b]Player who built the upgrade forfeits the match regardless of who is winning.

Cheating/Disconnecting/Dispute Resolution

All reports and issues will be resolved by the tournament manager and the referees. Cheating will result in exclusion from the tournament and a ban from future tournaments hosted by GameReplays.org. Poor sportsmanship may also result in disqualification from the tournament.

If an exploit or bug is not listed above that does not mean you can use it in the tournament, any one using bugs/exploits will be dealt with on a case by case basis with the potential of full exclusion from future tournaments.

Ladder Wars Tournament Rules

To the extent that these rules do not expressly provide otherwise, the Ladder Wars Tournament Rules apply to this event.

At this point, an alternate player(s)/team may be allocated to their position, or the opponent will advance.
