OGN Champions Winter 2012-2013 Recap

By JcGNeon - 2nd February 2013 - 09:38 AM

Hello Gamereplays community! Today, OGN Champions Winter concluded in South Korea as Azubu Frost and NaJin Sword played it out in the finals. Many well-known names turned up, including: Azubu Frost and Blaze, NaJin Sword, MVP White, CJ Entus, and others. Here is how it went.

In the quarter finals, teams CJ Entus, IM, and KT Rolster A were eliminated. This lead to both Azubu teams facing each other in the semi finals with Frost coming out on top. NaJin Sword dominated KT Rolster B.

In game one of the finals, it seemed like Azubu Frost would take control of this game with PraY getting caught out as Twitch. He was forced to use both of his summoner spells to escape, but don’t be fooled by that. The game quickly turns in favour of NaJin Sword as they obtain an advantage and snowball hard with it. NaJin Sword went on to win almost every teamfight and three-man Baron at the twenty-five minute mark for a really one-sided victory.

In game two, Shy picks up First Blood to give Azubu Frost an early lead. NaJin Sword doesn’t let them stop them, however, and compensates with some excellent Twisted Fate and Xin Zhao ganks. They managed to exploit CloudTemplar’s Shen splitpushing for some amazing plays. Many tactical battles were fought, and there were major blunders by both teams. Fifty minutes into the game and a bad teamfight cost NaJin Sword two Nexus turrets. Thinking they can win the game, NaJin Sword pushes back and fights Frost in their base for their victory in game two.

NaJin Sword only has one more game to win here in game three. So Azubu Frost picks... Trundle? Wait, what? Support Alistar as well? This could either go excellently or Frost will go down trolling. Azubu Frost invades NaJin Sword’s jungle at level one and PraY gets First Blood after a fail-flash from CloudTemplar. NaJin Sword does not waste an opportunity to snowball and claims early turret kills. Frost continues to blunder in teamfights and NaJin Sword gets Baron and an inhibiter thirty-three minutes in. And yet another blunder causes Azubu Frost’s defeat, allowing NaJin Sword to claim the 80,000,000 KRW prize and trophy.

Congratulations to NaJin Sword for their impressive play and achievement in winning!
