Greetings Comrades, GameReplays is proud to announce For The Win #87:

IPB Image

Like all tournaments we run, it will be on C&C: Online.

You will need to be set up with C&C: Online, so make sure you do that before the day of the tournament. Remember, GameReplays is not the place to get help with C&C: Online. Head to the Revora support forums for help with C&C: Online.

Date, Time and Location

FTW 87 will be a Single Elimination tournament beginning on January the 20th. Participants arrange the matches with their opponents themselves to see which day suits them best, one week per round. The total amount of weeks for the tournament depend on the player count as displayed below. Time differences can be cross-checked using the timer on the home page.

The correct amount of weeks:

2 players = 1 week (finals)
4 players = 2 weeks (semifinals)
8 players = 3 weeks (quarter finals)
16 players = 4 weeks (round of 16)
32 players = 5 weeks (round of 32)
and so on.

When the tournament starts, every match-up will have 7 days to complete their designated games from the time the match is decided. Failure to arrange your own games will lead to disqualification, however extensions can be permitted by contacting the referee.

The total prize pool for this event is $40 and is sponsored by Edvin($40). The prize breakdown is as follows and can potentially increase:

SINGLE ELIMINATION PRIZE

1st Place: 20$
2nd Place: 10$
Random Draw 1: 10$

The prize pool will be paying out regardless of sign-ups. To avoid confusion, yes, you do have to play all your matches to be eligible for any prize. Anyone who forfeits, is disqualified or does not properly participate, will not be eligible for any prize.

All prizes are in USD and will be transferred via PayPal. If we cannot transfer the money to you, then we will work with you on how you want your winnings handled.

* If you would like to contribute to this event, please contact Edvin.

We will be using the 1.12.6 version of the maps for this event. The first map of each round will be based upon map elimination, loser picks thereafter.

* NEW MAP SELECTION PROCESS * Please click below to learn exactly how map elimination works as you are expected to know this information.

NEW Map Elimination Guide

Map elimination applies to the first game of every round. The process is to determine what the first map of a series will be, in as fair a manner as possible. If both players agree, either player can start the elimination, but if you can't decide quickly who should start, then the player with the lower seed number will eliminate the first map. This is what the process would look like:

Player A removes a map
Player B removes a map
Player A removes a map
Player B removes a map
There are now 3 maps left
Player A will choose the first map to play
Player B will choose the second map
The same concept applies to BO5

If you can't decide who should start the elimination, the player with the lowest seed number on Challonge will eliminate first which can be verified on the bracket. If you don't know what that means, ask a Referee. Factions, including random, must be chosen before elimination begins and cannot be changed afterwards. If a player changes faction after map elimination is complete, the other player can decide to counter pick, do nothing, or restart the map elimination process at their discretion. The same map cannot be played twice in any series during any round.

DE Map pool, using 1.12.6 versions! <-----------------------------------

  • Libration Freeze V2

Format

FTW 87 will be a SINGLE ELIMINATION event.
  • As mentioned above, we will be doing one round per week starting on January 20th.
  • Each round starts Monday and will have to be completed no later than Sunday or with referee's approved extension.
  • All rounds will be BO5 up to the quarter finals and semi finals which is a BO7, with the grand finals beeing BO9.

Registration

All you need to do to register for this tournament is to post your in-game name in the registration topic linked below. Only register if you're going to be able to show up on the day of. Registration officially closes at 12:45 GMT on January 20th.

If you register in and you don't participate, you may be banned from any GameReplays.org tournaments for 30 days. If you can't play, don't register. Only players that are registered will be allowed to participate. Only checked in players will be in the bracket. If you have a situation that would cause you to not be able to register, but you can still participate, then message Edvin.

If you're early then you're on time. If you're on time then you're late. And if you're late you're disqualified!

If you need to take a break in between games, inform your opponent and the Referee. At most, five minute breaks will be allowed and only if needed. Maximum one break per round. If a player is found to be abusing this freedom or failing to inform the necessary parties or not returning on time, you will be disqualified at Referee discretion.

*Streaming

As live streams and casts are an important part of GameReplays.org events, if a streamer wants to observe a game, the players must allow at least one attempt. If the game has just started and either player feels like it is unplayable, they reserve the right to leave the game and request a replay with the streamer observing using the live replay tool. If unplayable lag starts mid-game, then the players can request the streamer leave ONLY if they are running the live replay tool.

If, and only if, the live replay tool fails to work for whatever reason, the streamer can request the players to submit the replays one at a time as completed direct to the streamer through agreed means (e.g. Discord).

Failure to comply with any of the above can lead to a match forfeit or disqualification from the current and/or future events.

As always, match-ups will be completely random as the seeds will be shuffled shortly after officially closing check-ins, so make sure you are viewing the official bracket before starting your matches.
