Greetings commanders! As you all know, Red3.org has a long list of experts who have been a part of the community, including: -Netput, JoZhA, iaguz, -XeoNeQ- (Dynamic), vehman, Technique, Avilo, ShadowTerran_II, Crunk 8D, EyEamZero, Dwelf^ nukestrike, Malle, Zlex, Luigi, DasDuelon, sofronel, Maniek, FreeZZinG, BaPor, Mutou, Matiz, TerryBogard, Tingu, 4del, Kivi, Eminence, WalfTheWolf, JulzzZ, YuiYui, Dankal, LiCtor and the most recent Vindies.
All of them have left their mark in Red Alert 3 history and in some cases, have made waves in other games as well. Today, we continue that long tradition we started years ago and we'll be advancing yet another to the rank of expert:
Red3.org: Congratulations! How does it feel being an Expert?
Dimon: Thanks, I don’t feeling anything special.
Red3.org: What two words would you say describe your play-style the best?
Dimon: Reliability and efficiency.
Red3.org: As an Expert, what would you like to see done in order to increase the competitive scene and perhaps bring some old school experts back?
Dimon: Auto match system, more streamers and more regular tournaments.
Red3.org: Out of all the current inactive Experts, name the top one you would like to see make a comeback and why?
Dimon: Julzzz, although I'm not too familiar with his play style, from the replays I’ve seen, he can play at a very good level.
Red3.org: What is the most valuable piece of advice you can give as an expert to any player looking to achieve this title?
Dimon: Try to improve your skills with every game and enjoy it.
Red3.org: You have already helped a lot of players through your mentoring topic. Do you think any of these players have the potential of reaching the very top level?
Dimon: Yes, at the moment the community has a lot of players who can improve to be top level. From my topic for example,
Papa_Coming will soon be giving good fights to good players if he keeps improving.
Red3.org: Did living in Russia have anything to do with you choosing the Soviet faction as your main?
Dimon: Yes, when I first started I chose Soviet because I'm Russian. Now I play all factions, but Soviet is still the most enjoyable for me to play with.
Red3.org: How would you rate your Allies and Empire skills?
Dimon: Both on a pretty good level. I don’t have any problems with control; mostly I lose due to lack of experience in some situations. But versus the top players, I think I can only give a good challenge in EvA.
Red3.org: How do you feel about playing on the maps from the 1.12.5 map pack that are not the 7 standard maps? Do you find them balanced enough and would like to see them featured in future events?
Dimon: I find it interesting and enjoyable. Also, sometimes I get tired of playing the standard maps. But most of them aren’t too balanced. It’s not easy to find very balanced maps in a game with three different factions. Also the concept of balance is subjective, so I think using just these maps for Grinder League is good idea.
Red3.org: You are indeed a part of the new-generation of experts. Many people remember you from the time at which you were a mid-level player and all of a sudden, you rapidly improved into being one of the best. What did you focus on to accomplish this?
Dimon: With reasonableness and efficiency of my moves, plus correcting my mistakes. Also, wanting to beat everyone gave me the motivation to try and play better. For example, when Kiro was very active, he was pretty strong and used Dojo/Tengu/Infantry spam for constant pressure and attacked in 2-3 places at the same time. I was trying to play faster which resulted in me improving my speed and control skills. I literally improved after 5 to 10 games played with a decent to top level player.
Red3.org: What is keeping you the most interested in this RA3 and do you play any other RTS style games?
Dimon: I played mostly C&C RTS, only single player. Since I started playing RA3 online, it’s the only game I play. I don’t wish to start something new, especially if you can find a lot of other things to do instead of gaming.
Red3.org: What is your favorite replay? This can be something recent or an old classic.
Dimon: My game versus Happy is most enjoyable for me. 1st game in the “You Must See It” series is the best one.
Red3.org: What would you say is your greatest strength in the game & the biggest weakness you need to work on?
Dimon: I would say my strongest side is tactical skills. I adapt, find the weak spots of my opponent and use it to my advantage. My weakness is lack of focus and concentration on the game. I often forget to do something like build ref for example when I’m controlling units in other place.
Red3.org: Who would you say is the current top player that gives you the most difficulty and the reason why?
Dimon: Currently, it’s
Pika. He ALWAYS plays at full power (I don’t know why ^^), ALWAYS uses his full abilities in each game, and ALWAYS fights for control of the map. So, I must play well too or get motivated to play even harder from battling him on any map.
Red3.org: Any final words for the community as a whole?
