Anyways, this match between myself (Watt, aka [m8s]EmpireNotOP) and HoangNgocToan (aka TamTam) is one that I'm mainly posting for educational purposes as it shows the proper way of countering the dreaded Soviets' MCV push. I know there's still empire players out there struggling against this tactic so I hope those players find this replay to be helpful.
The counter could've been even better had I not made 2 mistakes, the first being selecting honorable discharge instead of advanced rockets (didn't scout the MCV push fast enough) and the second being the sloppy micro with my own MCV that allowed his MCV to make it's way into my base. With the right micro, you can keep the opponent's MCV from ever reaching your base while you destroy it with VXs.

You are correct. I was just a bit cautious because he had a decent amount of hammer tanks and I knew time was on my side. I was afraid that if I built the dojo, he would be able to kill it before I got any TBs out (only had 2 ref). Continuing to spam tanks was the safer option because I knew that if I held out, I would eventually be able to over-run him with PDDs and emperor's rage.

Awsome, i'll check it out! i know myself i find it hard to counter, for sure im doing it wrong by spamming tb and iw while getting t2 i usally mcv sell and vx spam after haha
