Well, as you know on smaller maps that strategy is extremely hard to counter. Fundamentally your strategy was good. The only really tip I can give you is to take advantage of the ability to use an engineer to fully repair a busted building. Most people overlook this thinking, my barracks will be owned by a vindi or my engi will be owned by a vindi or my bullfrog that has the engi in it will be owned by a vindi.

But the best way to punish that (usually on larger maps) besides what you did is to use an engineer to repair your damaged buildings If you didn't lose your mcv you would have been in a better position. Unfortunately against competent ally players the best thing is to get flak troopers and camp them behind the line at your base with a few bullfrogs and slow crawl forward, maybe even set up a turret.

In short, battle bunker early would have stopped any useful manspam cold and/or leave the engi in there and set up a defensive position. Walls can help too against the manspam a bit. Dont sell your barracks for the power saving, leave it there and an engi on hold if anything and get some flak troopers too, wait for him to make a mistake and then move. Its tough especially because of his free expansioning but as you saw you were doing pretty good.

Tbh sickles pwn, but double rax is better if your doing the aforementioned potential counter. With your buildings safe through instant repair engis and your ground forces anti air and ground mix holding the line, then tech to migs and own his vindis while using engis to instant repair your airfield when necessary, this should work.

Looks to me like sickles + bullfrogs could do the job, but the early sickles were easily picked off before they could do much. I'd guess the same build order but with 2 bullfrogs before the first sickles. You would still get sickles before the manspam could reach you but have a chance of picking off the first vindi.

Otherwise, if sickles and bullfrogs can't beat manspam + vindis, sit back and wait for a balance patch. smile.gif

Yeah but it's still just as stupid and annoying as the other strat.
