Elves Build Orders

By MauH˙R - 27th June 2016 - 16:42 PM

Standard Start into Lancers

IPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB ImageIPB Image
Mallorn Tree -> Mallorn Tree -> Barracks -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Warriors -> Mallorn Tree -> Infantry -> Green Pasture -> Infantry -> Rivendell Lancers

This is the best all-round build for Elves as it works against any faction except Dwarves. The player can vary his choice of 2nd and 3rd battalion from the barracks if he wants to creep, if he has to play vs. cavalry, or if he feels the need for early archers.

Double Barracks

Mallorn Tree -> Mallorn Tree -> Barracks -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Swords -> Mallorn Tree -> Infantry -> Barracks-> Infantry

This build is for players who dont like to add lancers to their army too early and instead go for more infantry, which is generally a bit safer. Therefore this build isnt particularily bad against any faction but also never ideal.

Greedy Start

Mallorn Tree -> Mallorn Tree -> Mallorn Tree -> Barracks -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Warriors -> Mallorn Tree -> Infantry

In this build you get your 3rd tree before your barracks and your 4th tree before your first battalion. This is going to delay your first battalion a little, but your economy will be in a good shape very early into the game; and this will allow you to go into either lancers, a 2nd barracks or a hero from there.

Fast Barracks

Mallorn Tree -> Barracks -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Warriors/Mithlond Sentry -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Warriors-> Mallorn Tree-> Lorien Warriors/Mithlond Sentry/Lorien Archers

Elves in particular like to balance the slow economy of this start with fast creeping and a powerful subsequent attack with two battalions. This build can be followed up by a Green Pasture, a 2nd Barracks or a Hero.

Lancer Start

Mallorn Tree -> Mallorn Tree -> Green Pasture -> Lancers -> Barracks -> Lorien Warriors-> Mallorn Tree-> Lorien Archers

This build relies, as with all other cavalry starts, on the guaranteed damage and protection that always comes with early horsemen. If you're playing against a faction that is unlikely to get pikes out very fast (Mordor, Goblins) you can build a third Mallorn Tree before your Barracks.

Anti-Dwarf Build

Mallorn Tree -> Mallorn Tree -> Barracks -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Warriors -> Mallorn Tree -> Lorien Archers -> Lorien Archers -> Lorien Archers -> Haldir -> Mithlond Sentry

As the name says, this build is designed to hold off Dwarven rushes and ideally take no damage early on. The Lorien Swords are used to spot and kill forward mines and to serve as target for the first rush later on so the three Lorien Archers can shoot freely. Place your 4th tree where the Dwarf is not going to find it early on. The early Haldir will be an equal match for a possible Prince Brand, be decent vs. possible Battlewagons, can attack Mineshafts freely because of his splash damage and also deal with single Guardians that are trying to harass.
