I'm not quite as enthusiastic as everyone else seems to be post-13661-1143531603.gif

The early game left me a bit unsatisfied because motw should just beat that start. Those first 2 SoG batts in the base are faster than the númenorians, so IMO should just take at least 2 mills, if not the 3rd near the PB as well. Every second those númenors have to spend chasing a SoG battalion, is one second wasted for them because they cost more in money and CP. I wish Nemo had made a little more use of that.

Additionally, if you have a larger army based on lower-tier units, the stupidest thing you can do is focus on the middle so hard. Mauhúr often didn't have enough units to split among the flanks, yet Nemo did nothing to capture (expand there) them. This happened multiple times. I don't even understand why Mauúr went for a 4th farm on the flank with a numénor start xD, it's pure luck that wasn't the side Nemo chose for his first batt. With a normal ang spam vs motw it's a good idea, though.

Another mistake (especially vs Angmar), is having big clumps of army against a player who'll probably rack up the PPs as fast, if not faster, than you is asking for a FW+wight combo to the head.

Then, for some reason, Mauhúr sends 4 elite battalions to die across the ford knowing the enemy has at least 2 batts of cav. I myself, very often, send guys to their deaths, even some elite ones, but usually with the idea of harassing. Mauhúr knew there was a well+statue there, did he really think there'd be no army? And if he knew it was there, did he expect to gain anything? Morgomir's thingy is not a nullifier so it isn't as if the LS from the statue is removed.

So in summation, I found this game to be pretty static. Yeah, there was a novel strategy, but I'd take a well-executed, more 'boring' strategy any day. Just like with movies; an original movie with a crap execution sucks more than a movie with amazing execution whose story is basic.

Don't mean to hate; it's good you uploaded the replay and I'm happy people are enjoying it. Just wanted to give my 2 cents and my reasons as to why I'm gonna refrain from wubbing.

EDIT: Just the fact that that 4th mill by Mauhúr leveled up to lvl3, makes me dislike this replay.

Im glad you did^ Proper reviews are always appreciated. Bushit could learn from that, when he is on this website all day.

First off i agree with the fact that i should have destroyed more farm early on, cause double rax strat out spams numenorians. I did make a couple of mistakes here and there. Not seeing the wildmen or the farm next to the inn, was pretty dumb. Ive played this mu with Mau a couple of times, he NEVER does numenorians. And especially not followed by upgrades and morgo. I would say that the strat he did isent the best one to use, hence my statement "He might have been trying new stuff". But none the less, the guy made me fight for 41 min to get the win.

If you have played mau before, then you know he is straight forward. He likes to dominate the mid, and that is why i kept spamming/holding the mid so heavily with statues ect. The clumb and his sorc meh, your completely right. But it is also good micro from his part^ I dont think this is an amazing replay, but i think the strat he tried was upload worthy. The well executed boring strats your referring to, please enlighten me. The only other strat i find usefull vs Men, is the fast pace wolf start, which is far from boring.

Thanks for the review.

EDIT: The fact that you've never had a level 3 farm vs Mau, makes me wanna flame you.

Wow ofc that Numenor start is NEVER supposed to work and it was entirely for fun, it's better than just doing the Wolf thing and win in 5 min tongue.gif
So plz no serious reviews on games where I obviously did some fun stuff.

From what I've seen, this is definitely not Mau's optimal performance. Good game though. It was quite interesting seeing how those interesting build orders played out.

Wasn't a review, just explaining why I didn't feel the same way as most commenters.

No problem, although, as stated above, it wasn't really a review. Also, I absolutely think it's upload worthy just because proper players are in it. I just chose not to wub it because of some pretty 'severe' mistakes IMO.

If you honestly think I have never, or wouldn't be able to, have a lvl3 farm against Mauhúr (especially if he does that start), flame ahead.

Simple Definition of review:

1) An act of carefully looking at or examining the quality or condition of something or someone

2) Examination or inspection

3) A report that gives someone's opinion about the quality of a book, performance, product, etc.

4) A magazine filled mostly with reviews and articles that describe the writer's thoughts or opinions about a subject.

What you wrote was a review. And Nice! Let me see the replay, and ill give it my review.

True. It can be further broken down into the following:

1) Examine
2) Criticise (constructive) / applaud
3) Advise

Baring in mind these 3 pointers allows for a simplified yet educational review.
