Felt I was doing pretty good, but then somehow I fucked up (I think my DS was used inappropriate and I made a bad loss of both my heroes).
Anyway good game I guess, tips would be welcome as always smile.gif

It was me (Isen) vs BraBox (Elves)

Am uploading this from my perspective along with another cw game I played.

Btw, what is DS in this case? I don't remember seeing dragon strike.

You were doing well army-wise but you were only keeping up eco wise. As isengard, you can easily have 1.5x of elf eco. If it weren't for 1 very successful uruk swords batt harassing, you wouldn't have taken down many trees. After that 10 min mark I was constantly sitting at 700 CP or higher. For Elves that's an amazing position to be in cause you can just keep your opponent in his base.
Also, at one point you were banking rather heavily on lurtz+saru and you sent them in too deep together. I know it's hard to remember Tom Bombadil leads to eagles and actually keep that in mind. But that could've saved you if you split those 2 heroes up rather than keep them together. At least lurtz would've probably survived.

Thats a typical bfme 2 style to keep them together and kill everything on their way. They grants different types of leaderships there thats why they so strong together. But Saru has no leadership in rotwk (luckily).

I miss his passive leadership, TBH.

Allright thanks BraBox, and yea I used Dragon Strike in the end of the game, on your base, but I should have used it on your army instead as it might have saved me from defeat post-13661-1143531603.gif

Using it on an army is extremely risky owing to the time it takes for the Dragon to fly over the targeted area. We'll be increasing the Dragon's speed for the next patch though to make army killing a viable option.

Late review, but a review nonetheless.
Strategy-wise:
I think it's important to understand the strengths and weaknesses of both factions in any 1v1 and plan your gameplay accordingly. IMO elves have a hard time expanding early on in the game, therefore banking on this fact is important to controlling their economy, and in turn, unit production output. For this reason, I think that a 4 Furnace start is a risky, as it gives elves that extra time they need to build up their army and eco, which plays to their advantage.
Also, imo archers are one of the strengths that elves has, so naturally, wargs is a must for me. If you can't trample the archers because your opponent is microing them w/ pikes, then you can use them to harass his economy. This forces him to chase you with pikes, transition to lindons, or get a counter-cav hero. And since you have Palantir you can rule out some of his options.

Other Stuff:
- I think you started building your first pike when his first lancer battalion came out. You had palantir and could see Elves stable building, so you could've been prepared for cav way earlier.
- Lumber Mills, Lumber Mills, Lumber Mills.
