Thought we'd try a different map for a change. Was an okay game but mainly uploading to see if I can get some advice on how to do better next time smile.gif

Ah Iron Hills, great map! Remember to control those signal fires asap as they are free, no lair protecting them. Dwarf did well getting them asap.

I didn't watch whole game cuz I saw some mistakes being made. Now about your play:
  • Wouldn't even upgrade to rangers so early tbh, don't need them. Archers aren't the best vs dwarf imo for any army (except elf, they need archer ofc) until later game after a few hero. Numenor + Rhudaur + Heroes gg. Rangers easy target for Brand and Wagon, and makes army more defensive in nature. Dark Numenorians are the best swords and can match up to dwarf infantry well. Only need Ranger if Dwarf gets Zealots vs your hero.
  • Morgomir + Hwaldar are good heroes vs dwarf, debuff and money, makes axethrowers a bit better too. All Ang heroes are good vs Dwarf. If you get them Dwarf is gonna be raging.
    Anytime vs dwarf, heroes are the way to go, especially Angmar hero. Dwarf are just fat, debuffed, and easy xp.
  • Get Forces of Lamentation fort upgrade + Wolf expansion near rax, it pro defense vs dwarf rushes.

anyway is see some small mistakes:

* troups that stay near the spider lair for many time at the beginning. you need all your forces at beginning.

*obvsly matty make a nice strategy to take all signal fire... it's a thing that in this map is strange (cause of drakes). but you leave all game 2 signal fire... ended XD

* maybe you must expand more and fast your economy and spawn (before your hero morgomir) with third hall and expanded farms on the left side of your map? so you could see attack of dwarves...

as you know i'm nab but i see many replays but not many on this map...
anyway i'm not sure that giants before snowbind, in this situation, is a good choice... there is a Gloin in your base... so you could use on it and expand your fortress... boh

Yeah, really like it now. Will try and convince people to play more on it. I always thought the Drake lair was right next to it so I didn't bother. Will remember for next time.

Well no shit Sherlock! Ofc there were mistakes, that's the whole reason I uploaded it! tongue.gif

If you watched to the end you'll see we both lost our fortresses at the same time. Mine was to rock drop and a Gloin solo. Neither of those would have helped me. I was considering both but I thought I'd save for Morgomir, will remember for next time.

He also pulled out men of dale with fire arrows towards the end. What are your thoughts on killing these? And I played another game with this mu against your mate Hindu on nab fords of isen. Didn't go so well. He started creeping the troll closest to my base and got hobbits. I managed to destroy a couple of mines early and had a relatively good eco but everything was downhill from there. Slow but steady advance from dwarvesand my axethrowers decided to run into a swarm of guardians. Question is, what is the ideal army composition early against the fatties? How soon should I upgrade for numenoreans?
