Goblins (raC^AkiRa) & Dwarves (raC^lagabuse): North
Isengard (JR|GodForbid) & Isengard (JR|CheGuevara): South

Overview:

A very good game played in an interesting constellation of factions by four skilled players. After a long time of uncertainty JR managed to claim the neglected Dwarven fortress after having combined two Dragon Strikes on it. But hereafter their guard was down and concentration lapsed - raC didn't hesitate to make use of this by rallying forces and going on a harassing spree and proving they were far from beaten.

Goblins & Dwarves - raC

Build Order: Tunnel - Cave - Tunnel - Tunnel
Power Point Path: Bats - Tainted Land - Wildmen - Watcher - Balrog - Scavenger - Wyrm

Build Order: Tunnel - Tunnel - Hall of Warriors (Guardians) - Tunnel
Power Point Path: Rallying Call - Rebuild - Heal - Dwarven Riches - Men of Dale - Barrage - Earthquake

A very good game allround by you two. Late game you almost blundered by losing one of your forts needlessly but recovered quickly and took the victory home with the nice spam on the Goblins side.

Akira: You had very impressive stamina this game - your spam from first minute to last was commendable and forced your opponents into submission in the end. There are only a couple of things you need to pay more attention. Your cashflow was quite high most of this game. You counteracted it at first by continuously upgrading your fort with upgrades it didn't really need as your core base stayed virtually untouched - your opponent being on the defense. Try to use the ressources better by getting upgrades much sooner than you did and applying them on Spider Riders which you could have spammed more consistently this game. Isengard can have a very difficult time stopping Spider Riders mid game as they don't have the speed to effectively trap them. Spider Riders equipped with Forged Blades could have wreaked absolute havoc on both opponents' economies mid game. Then you should have gotten Drogoth this game - you could have easily afforded to several times and he would have been invaluable. Neither opponent had any units to counter aerial and Drogoth would have torn apart most of what your opponents had to attack with. Also, Isengard's arsenal of units to hold off Drogoth is very limited and Saruman and Lurtz are a far way away from sufficing to do the job. For future consideration he would have been an excellent addition to Gorkil (whom you made very good use of). Then you need to watch your Powers and Power Point count more. You let the Balrog idle for over 10 minutes which is way too long. When you finally used him it was on a smaller army when he would have done loads more damage used against a base or a sizeable army. All in all though - very well done by you this game - compliment.
Lagabuse: You started this game off shakily due to the fact that your initial attack and tunnel defense wasn't ideal. Don't use all your troops to defend tunnels you're going to lose one way or another but rather divert your units (especially when reallying called) to attack at the same time in order to prevent your opponent from constantly reenforcing his attack. Your Battlewagon control early game was excellent though. Another mistake you made early game was to purchase Rebuild when you didn't end up needing it. Only purchase an additional 5 PP power early game if you're really going to make use of it, if you don't you just slow yourself down on your Power Point path - you can always get a power like Rebuild later on when you need it. Then in late game, you unfortunately lost your fort completely unnecessarily which was too bad - you had your tunnel system garrisoned with three Phalanxes which just sat there when they could have easily defended your fort against the Wargs. That negligence almost cost you a game you were winning especially when you started building a Hall of Warriors virtually inside your opponent's base with one of your surviving builders, losing him. A loss of your second builder would have probably sealed the deal which fortunately didn't happen. Aside from that there were only some smaller mistakes along the way such as some missed opportunities with Dain's Mighty Rage but nothing too serious.

    Tips for Improvement:

  • (Akira) Keep an eye on your cashcount and calculate what investments you'll derive the most use from. Drogoth would have been an excellent addition to your forces this game and earlier upgrades combined with more consistent Spider Rider use would have made an equally significant difference.
  • (Akira) Pay more attention to your Power Points and don't let high PP spells idle for too long. Balrog idled for way too long and wasn't used very well when he finally came into play. You also let your count drift up to nearly 25 before getting Scavenger.
  • (Lagabuse) Don't purchase superfluous Powers early game.
  • (Lagabuse) Don't miss opportunities for your heroes' spells, especially not Mighty Rage.
  • (Lagabuse) Don't lose your fort to negligence and especially don't risk your surviving builders thereafter.

Isengard & Isengard - JR

Build Order: Furnace - Furnace - Steading - Furnace
Power Point Path: Birds - Industry - Watcher - Dragon Strike - Palantir

Build Order: Furnace - Furnace - Uruk Pit (Uruk Hai) - Uruk
Power Point Path: Birds - Industry - Watcher - Dragon Strike - Devastation

You guys had a strong early game, with nice attacking and defending and managed to keep the balance for most of the game. What surprised me was that neither of you bothered to purchase the Murder of Crows upgrade at your fort this entire game. It would have been extremely useful on either one of your forts, especially after you lost your tower, and would have informed you of diagonal Goblin attacking and Dwarven construction work in the middle. After managing to destroy one opponent's fort with a nicely combined power use and attack you started heavily slacking which was a pity and gave your opponents the chance to take control.

Godforbid: You cashfloated this entire game and for the most part cashfloated very high. This was actually a surprise due to a shocking mistake you made. You piled three of your Industry powers on the same furnace which was fatal. Then, with the cash you were floating you should have been spamming much more consistently early game. Your Production Buildings were very frequently idle when you urgently needed more units to keep up pressure and effectively defend your base. Especially against Goblins you really need to steadily spam and get pikes early on to prepare against Battlewagons and Spider Riders in advance. Then you waited an eternity to get an Armory and lost it before being able to use it for upgrades. Late game there was a single Phalanx unit in your base which you failed to kill, leaving it to roam about killing no less than two builders and seven furnaces (one industried), that's what ultimately cost you the game as it completely paralyzed you. Allround you had nice hero use though you could have saved them more often than you did and failed to use Saruman's Wormtongue a couple of times when it would have been essential.
CheGuevara: Your early-mid game was very strong. You hit the Dwarves head on and forced him to fight for every inch toward your base. At one point you cashfloated up to above 4000 when upgrades would have made a huge difference had you gotten the Armory timely. Then late game you started making some serious mistakes such as losing Saruman to melees against Dwarven heroes and losing inumerous (!) sometimes fully upgraded Wargs by uncarefully riding them into Goblin clumps and meleeing Phalanxes. A fully upgraded Warg batt costs you over 1000, keep that in mind when you let one batt after the next die to pikes. Especially for the first half of the game though - compliment.

    Tips for Improvement:

  • (Godforbid) You really need to watch your cashfloating. This entire game showed a lot of cashfloating when more consistent spam and above all earlier upgrades would have helped you stay on even footing with the Goblins.
  • (Godforbid) Don't waste Industries on the same furnace, a power like that wasted is extremely detrimental.
  • (Cheguevara) Watch your hero use, you had some nice escapes but then let your heroes run back to die. Especially don't lose Saruman by meleeing Dwarven heroes.
  • (Cheguevara) Don't lose Wargs - especially not fully upgraded Wargs - by riding into pikes or into a Dragon Strike area.

Wow sweet biggrin.gif yeah progressing lag after all the upped units and spam, and so much concentration makes it so hard not to make the mistakes sad.gif but unfortunately we all get these problems sad.gif
